I hope poe 2 wont be a one core skill spamming game
" There was a "dodge" performed in one of the teasers, but I think this dodge skill is connected to the spear weapon type. They showcased something like that back in the Ultimatum PoE 2 showcase. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

" Ahh, got it. I did see the dodge skill and I think I recall something about additional avoidance skills being attached to weapons. Not that any of us really know anything, but I doubt they'll be scrapping existing movement/blink/travel skills for something like that.
" I do think to Nubatron's point, it is fair to say nothing has officially been revealed on that from GGG. But you see what you see. *shrug, we will almost certainly find out in July. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

" Right but what they did in Ruthless should at least give you pause in this area. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

" Yeah, I wouldn't actually be very surprised if they changed/nerfed/reworked the whole travel/blink/movement skill system, and I'm not even sure if it would be negative for the game as a whole, depending of the changes of course. One thing is certain, though: It's a potential landmine. They have to step carefully there. " I do think there are elements of Ruthless that will creep into the game, and that they are playing with fire on that topic. I enjoy Ruthless personally to a point, but it's not fun for very long. A slow march toward end game is one thing, but I personally felt like it was a wall around red/yellow maps. I'm not so cynical to believe they would tank their game that hard. They are niche, meaning probably at most a million(ish) unique players, but I don't think they are looking to get into player numbers that make keeping the servers on a financial impossibility. Trading movement skills for a fixed universal movement skill with a CD will not go over well; especially for the masochists that religiously play melee. " I'm really not so sure tbh. Its conceivable that GGG devs believe this is the best way to slow down the game, make mob interactions meaningful, and balance damage accordingly. Good intentioned design with poor implementation is a GGG staple. I think Ruthless was obviously a testing ground for this. No movement skills was bad, a universal movement skill a league later was less bad, perhaps a dodge / roll / dash on 4.0 is what they settle on. I really don't know how much they despise the zoom zoom in PoE1. But it appears it's at least on the table. " The Dodge skill was present on both teasers. It is highly unlikely to be spear skill, because weapons those character are holding is very unlikely to be a spear. From the previous trailer and gameplay walkthrough we know that spears have different holding stance and different style of attack animations. The weapon that "monk" character is using is most likely Staff/Warstaff. Dodge might be default travel skill. It is interesting if it will share a cooldown with other movement/travel skills or be separate from them.
"wait diablo 4's success? x'D "Now all that's left is for you getting on your knees."
if you know thanks me:) i'm dying to find out x'D
" Quite a few people tout units sold as a measure of success, and for the company, that is absolutely the chief measurement. I tend to think of success differently as a player, but that is one way to measure I suppose. D4 is what it needs to be for that target audience. I hope it remains appealing to that group for a long time so that they maybe quit trying to turn POE into D3/D4. That's the win/win. Last edited by Nubatron on Jun 14, 2023, 11:52:12 AM
