" right from the start of ggg selling mtx it was clear that only people who loved the game purchased them to show their friends and townies that they supported ggg and the companies' promising ideas cause mtx mostly further reduced your field of view, game performance and led to more deaths. so it didn't really matter how mtx looked and that's also the reason for a recolored lightning scorpion costing a hundred bucks. it was only later that ggg did 'sales' of those mtx, probably because they had no regional prices like the big fishs in the market but it totally negated the original idea of mtx as 'signs of support'. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
