New Engine Patches uses twice as much CPU/GPU yet causes insane micro stutter and lag

I tryied to play this game since the 6gb engine update patch, and i can say waiting for shaders to fix or downlaod all not solve the problem, i already played since the first day of this borked patch, and even now the problems getting worse, after shaders downloaded i not received lots of huge fps drops, but continues lots of stuttering and freezing, the worst of all, when some chests or mosnter or event like betrayal happens or other things happens, out of nowhere my game freeze the entire pc and crashs without warning or no messages after 10sec freezing my entire pc, when they back to normal the game closes and i'am not able to play, this is a joke how GGG give us nothing, the downloading shaders is not the problem, the entire update is the problem, they need to reverse back to before 6GB patch engine and try to fix this before launche to the public and kill all the game for us.

Added a bug report: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3408867
but ill add it here too just in case.

Laptop with:
- Intel core i7 6700HQ 2.60GHz
- RAM 16GB Dual-channel DDR4 1064MHz
- 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M, (also has Intel HD Graphics 530, this is not used for poe)
- 500GB SSD
- Windows 10 Home 64-bit

I have tried all recommended solutions:
- Pack check
- Updating windows
- Updating GPU drivers using GeForce Experience
- Full fresh reinstall of the game
- Deleting config file.
- Checked Im within minimum requirements, which i am. Heck GPU is better than minimum when compared to requirements from https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3072628
- GPU comparison: https://technical.city/en/video/GeForce-GTX-650-Ti-vs-GeForce-GTX-960M
- Tested various combinations of graphical settings:
____- Everything on low
____- Dx11, Vulkan, Dx12(this gives the best performance, but has occasional spikes to 100% GPU out of nowhere, so something is making it Unstable)
____- Capped fore and back ground fps to 30
____- Windowed mode with 1280x720
____- and more, and etc, and fiddling continues endlessly

Problem Description:
Prior to the first of the series of patches leading up to 3.21.2b, I had managed to fiddle the game settings low enough to where by gpu was running at a stable 34% usage on the GPU, with the expected spikes during combat.

After patch, the GPU usage is unstable, and significantly increased. Average usage is 50% on the GPU, with spikes going to 95% when using a single skill in the wrong spot in hideout. (See Test Below)

Additionally the CPU spikes to 80-100% when loading areas, which ill asume is a different problem all together. Switching to dx11/vulkan/dx12 has some effect on this loading

POE Particle/lighting Performance Test:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFPkdf6oFf4

Conclusion: Game is in an unplayable state on a machine that is above minimum requirements, with a build that speficially is optimised for low end, and while using lower resolution than recommended for minimum specs. This is due to the exessive strain put on the GPU.

The Poe2 lighting/particle effects appear to be the main culprite, as the more of any effect on screen is displayed the exponentially worse the GPU's performance becomes as seen in test above.

This issue cannot be resolved from the player side.

P.S.
Came back to poe after quitting the game in 2020, about 1 week before this shitshow, fiddled the pc to work, got back into buildplanning, and made it to level 7 the sunday before the first patch. FeelsBadMan.

Ill asume heist league was the first time poe2 particle shitstem was introduced, as the current problem is pretty much the same issue that made me quit back in 2020. Had a good 3 weeks of fun back then on self cast desecrate+ detonate dead before heist league, and then after the desecrate effect got changed, the skill became unusage due to its new terrible performance(which seems to never have been fixed btw).

I optimistically wish you the best of luck fixing this, which you will surely need, given Exilecon showed the poe backend being a hardcoded spaghetti ball, and Visual effects guy from day 2 (https://youtu.be/XE3MAFGDzWw?t=3633) explaining how the more cascades he does the cheaper they get, which sounds cool and is probably true, but when put to practise clearlymakes the GPU shit the bed.

Lastly, coming back made me consider getting some of the new specialised stashtabs... but why bother when the game doesnt work.

Now it keep crashing to desktop AFTER i get the damn fps to be back to normal...wth did you do to the game GGG? Why did you mess with something that wasnt broken?

3 crashes in 10 minutes wtf

Every single crash is from a crucible spawn too btw. logged back in and crashed again on the same opened crucible....

I jump to a trade in someone else's HO - long loading (20-60 sec), jump back to my HO 2-3 seconds loading....

Loading into HO after death on the map or exit through the portal from the map to HO 15-45 sec...

And so in a circle. Shaders you say?

On each map at the end I go into the harvest, and it loads the shaders from scratch, the empty floor has almost no textures for about 30 seconds. Go back to the map from the harvest and it again loads the same map with transparent floors. And so, on each map of the same one, it constantly loads these textures ... Playing them in general, every new map constantly compiles chtoli, why then this shader cache if it does not use it?
Unplayable after this patch 24 july, 4 FPS on maps omg(
All was good before
3900x 3070ti 32gb RAM, Samsung 970 M.2 SSD, Win 10
I cant play anymore.
I bought a new GPU Nvidia GTX 1650 and I was having a blast game was smooth, but after the patch the game is unplayable.
Microstuttering,FPS drop, huuge loading screen, etc, its horrible.

i7 - 3770K 3,9 Ghz
16 Gb RAM
GPU Nvidia GTX 1650
Kingstone SSD - 256 GB
Win 10

Vulkan and Dx12 its worse.
After engine "improvements" my GPU turned into a high-energy-sucker. GPU fans ramping up like crazy when playing normal maps. Can't even do uberblight maps anymore, I'm lagging to death. Never had issues before engine-"improvements". Used to do 5-way all day long without any stutters.

I also noticed that the loading time into maps, getting out of maps, portaling to towns or the Hideout has increased compared to "pre-upgrade".

3060Ti, AMD 3700X, RAM 32GB, 512GB NVMe, WIN10

Please revert changes. This is actually making parts of the game unplayable for me. You have not tested this before release.

Ever since the 6gb patch arrives poe been giving me insane stutter and lag, with shader bar on the F1 chart constantly maxing out (which i think thats the reason for the lag). Ive noticed that many people has the same issur and i thought ill help provide another post to help report the problem.

My specs:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9300H CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2400 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
Memory: 8GB
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1050

(Yes i know its potato spec but the game was running quite fine before the patch, but now its really struggling for no reason after the engine update :( )

Congratz!!! Your topic has become the "chosen" one!!!

LOL,... sorry had to come up with something other than just "bump".

In the Nvidia Control Panel. Set this as high as your disk lets you get away with. (I set mine to Unlimited.)

Just remember that doing that under "global" and not per client effects everything you run on your PC. including the desktop.

Chuter.

if per client you mean the application- I can't find it under poe.exe anyway

That's very odd,...

EDIT: Also you can manually add it if not there, but it was there in the drop down menu in alphabetical order for me.
