When DLSS?|
This is so sad to notice that DLSS/FSR isn't still a thing in PoE years later despite the huge benefit from using it.
I struggle at understanding people at key positions when it comes to deciding what tech deserves to be added to the game. |

" DLSS in cyberpunk causes random small flashes of light to appear everywhere, especially on car windows, or glints on bottles and liquids, or floor grates in the street. DLSS added after-the-fact isn't always great, maybe PoE2 deserves it more |

" The new version of cyberpunk and dlss already fixed this. Overall in the rtx 40xx generation dlss works great. ✨ Beta tester Path of Nerf 👀 Last edited by spokipo#1869 on Jun 8, 2024, 6:12:11 PM

" this is false i played cyberpunk with frame gen on my 3070 yes its possible with the mods but only works for single player games and i did not experience anything of that you said |
|
Has there been any word on whether this will be a thing in PoE2?

... DLSS/FSR increases the demand on the CPU by lowering the GPU bottleneck. This means that all adding these would do, is make your performance worse. Some people here are saying "my gpu is sleeping" but then think lowering the demand on their GPU... will give better performance? Do we see how silly this is?
This is not cyberpunk or some gpu-intensive game. This is a particle sim that roasts your CPU like benchmarking software. Your CPU gets hot playing PoE because it has multi-threading. What we actually need, is better noise culling. We don't even see all of the particles, etc, so why do we need them processed. Anyway, you're never getting DLSS or FSR. Ever. I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.

" You don't know what you are talking about, the higher the resolution, the higher the load on the processor, when preparing a frame, the processor has to process more data, at a higher resolution. This is very well felt when you from 2k resolution, put 4k. A living example, in the same cyberpunk when I increase the resolution the CPU load increases, and if I turn on DLSS, the CPU load goes down. ✨ Beta tester Path of Nerf 👀 Last edited by spokipo#1869 on Jun 14, 2024, 6:03:27 AM

" Resolution doesn’t increase the load on the processor because the CPU doesn’t process pixels. The CPU handles things like AI, physics, and game logic, which don’t change with resolution. What you’re seeing in Cyberpunk is probably because some graphics settings, like shadows or ray tracing, might adjust automatically when you change the resolution. Also, when the GPU works harder, it can make the CPU wait longer, but that’s an indirect effect. DLSS lowers GPU load by rendering at a lower resolution and upscaling, which can also reduce the communication time between the CPU and GPU. So, resolution doesn’t directly increase CPU usage, it’s just a coincidence...it's not actually a coincidence, but it's not a direct connection either. 📦

" That's your guess, in practice it's different, when I turn on dlss fg in cyberpunk, I have a noticeable drop in CPU and gp load, those who have RTX 4000+ video cards can easily check it out. ✨ Beta tester Path of Nerf 👀
