Will PoE2 have male/female options for each class?

been asking for this for 4 years+ https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2665558

I thought maybe they would do it in PoE2 or even PoE1 at some point with skins but after the announcement by Chris saying they're going to in other words (use all the money they said they were going to create the expansion of the game with) to make an entirely new game with the same character models.

Good to see that return on investment GGG (sarcasm)

I'd rather they invest the money where their main selling point lies: good fucking gameplay.

I'm sure if you actually polled a focus group of PoE players on whether or not the game should have both genders you'd find out that it'd be nice to have, but the game will be good either way.

Nope
Locked gender is more gritty old school arpg. Gender choices and different character looks is more modern generic. nah nn ty, prefer the oldschool gritty.
hopefully we can also get genitalia customization in poe 2

They're laughing now, but they'll watch in awe as I emerge with dragonfly-flaps on my Ranger!

It allows for more characterisation if the characters are gender locked. Many of them just don't work the same as the other gender. Like, imagine a male Scion, it would make very little sense. Otherwise, there would need to be two different backgrounds for each class, one for each gender. At that point, wouldn't it make sense for them to be two different characters instead of two flavours for the same mechanical class? I wouldn't mind if gender locking stayed, it's part of what gives PoE some of it's soul and personality, as opposed to the standard character creation model used by RPGs.

I will also mention that the characterisation extends to the world itself, as the gender of each character reflects the values and traditions of societies in Wreaclast. It makes sense that Templars are a patriarchical structure or that it's mainly male combatants in the grand arena and with Witch we can also see that it's common for women in Oriath to delve into the occult as we later confirm with Piety and Catarina. Choice in character gender leads to less immersive world building.
