Ok, but if you get the random one every time in normal and every gem has the same odds to appear it would still be harmless compared to other droprates in the game and it would actually be viable in ssf to farm your desired skill gem for a couple of hours.
Oh its 100 times better than we had currently. Even for not specialised build normal lab takes like 5 min to run. Thats 12 gems per hour.

In the Q&A they said only skills which are typically used as main damage dealers in 6links (dont remember the exact phrasing) will get transfigured versions. IIRC it was also explicitely mentioned that Auras and Heralds dont get any.
That is already not true so idk why did they say that. They gave us both Frost Bomb and Flame Dash. Last time I checked people dont run those with 6-link
So I just checked and there do seem to be some on poe.ninja who actually do that. (Not trying to say that that is compatible with what was being said in the Q&A (which I dont remember exactly anyway).)
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

I mean we had a league where Frost Bomb was meta and it was destroying Feared etc but since then its less used as a main skill than any "melee skill that is unplayable". We got even 2 new gems for Blink Arrow. I think we are getting 1-2 gems for every single skill gem in the game (might not be all of them this league)

They mentioned Auras and Heralds not getting any - for now at least. My guess is also that most Curses and some others wont get any now. IIRC they also arent sure how many of those they are planning to make they can finish before league start.

Yes, however its random gem. You cannot pick. And seeing how they shown in stream "100+ new gems", you will have less than 1% chance to get gem you want.
Ofc with trading it will be easy to get, but dont expect to have ur gem of a choice day 1 at lvl 30.
Not quite. The normal lab allows you to upgrade a gem of a specific color, and you are presented with 3 options. So you place a blue gem in and get 3 transfigured blue gems as potential outcomes and you can pick one of them or none of them. Odds of getting the specific gem you want first try are not that high, but doing a few runs this is meant to be a fast and easy way to get the gems you want, even though the higher tier lab has an option to just upgrade a specific gem to it's transfigured version(s).

I thought that is only for uber lab and in normal you get random one, w/o picking. If thats even for normal lab I might leaguestart with trans gem.

By logic and compared to other content in the game it is probably fairly easy.
They said over 100 trans gems?. Dunno let's assume it will be 200. If normal Lab offers the chance to transform a gem every time and you get to choose from 3, it would be 1,5% to hit. It is probably less than 200 gems and you also get the chance to transform certain colors and get an outcome from that color...So very realistic outcome, if you run normal lab for several hours you will probably hit.
But if lab doesn't offer the option to transform a gem everytime then the odds would go down drastically of course.
IIRC only uber lab gives you option to pick gem of specific color. Normal one has the random ones.
source? all i've heard is that getting those gems are from the uber lab. and not a word of getting them from the first 3 labs.
"Now all that's left is for you getting on your knees."
if you know thanks me:) i'm dying to find out x'D

That was already clarified. Normal Lab = random one could still be decent odds compared to basicly everything else in the game^^

Source for various things about new gems, not implying other quoted statements are correct - first lab does however give new gems: Q&A

ZiggyD post-reveal Q&A with the devs
There'll be a bit more context than what I'll quote here, even before this timestamp, but here's some edited dialogue starting from about 1:07:00.
"
ZiggyD - "I'm interested in that idea of players running into it as a course of their regular gameplay. Does that mean that there's a pretty good likelihood that each time you run Normal, Cruel, and Merciless Labyrinth for the first time--maybe you only do them the one time--are you going to actually get a relevant gem reward upgrade each run?"
"
Mark - "The option is always there...so, one of the crafts on the bench is always to convert it to a Transfigured Gem, it's not like that one's random. Whether or not you get the one you exactly want obviously is not reliable, but you will always get--so the common one that's put there is, if you put in an Int gem, you will get an Transfigured Int gem back, so at least it's likely that if you put in a spell you'll get a spell. And if you don't want to take it, you can just be like 'Nah, I don't want it' and take your gem back and then try again next time. It doesn't like force you to--you can put your primary skill in there hoping for the best, and if you don't get it, you take it back and just keep playing your build, or you can run it again if you want, or you can wait until Cruel and run it.
And it is worth noting, I know this is a bit later in the game, but the Uber Labyrinth has two crafts by default instead of one now, so that when you get to the end you get more opportunities at doing it.
One tactic could be that knowing that the Normal Labyrinth is the shortest and easiest to get through, you can--a high level player can just run it a number of times just to try and get the right transfigured gem, but obviously you won't get a lot of the good crafts and a lot of the good rewards that also come from it. But if that was your way to try to get the most appropriate Transfigured gem the fastest, that is a tactic. It's not meant to be ultra taxing and time consuming to try to get the one you want."
Uber labyrinth might be the only one where you can get the craft that will give you a Transfigured Gem of the same skill you put it, but the craft giving one of the same colour certainly sounds like it's available from the Normal Labyrinth.
