Those of you who are worried that PoE2 is straying too far from its roots...
" What is the point being made here? These are all fast builds, and PoE 2 will be nothing like this. They want PoE 2 to be the true successor of Diablo 2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8ahwdYyKmA If anything it'll look like this.
" I don't think you've been keeping up on what a "fast build" is nowadays. Here, let me help: https://youtu.be/e7_N-iZJLN8?t=24 Are you beginning to see how the audience that was attracted 10 years ago might not be the same audience that the game is currently attracting? " I played all kinds of builds in Path of Exile. I remember how it felt to play a Kaom's Roots MS Juggernaut when it was the meta. A 2023 autobomber being slightly faster than an old blade flurry or reave build doesn't mean that the old builds are slow. All of these builds are still very fast compared to what builds in Path of Exile 2 will look like. It'll be exactly like Diablo 2 and Grim Dawn. The removal of movement skills is a perfect indicator of this. It is, by design, made for people who want a similar experience to what current Ruthless iteration offers. There are no spammable movement skills and all of the fights with strong monsters are intended to take a while. This has pretty much never been the case for the Path of Exile we know. It's not a bad thing, and it makes perfect sense for GGG to have two completely different ARPG games offering two different type of experiences so that they can attract all kinds of players from all kinds of action RPGs. I just don't get why GGG thinks Path of Exile 2 can attract the people who enjoy the current, fast-paced iteration of Path of Exile. They keep shoving Path of Exile 2 down our throats at every opportunity while the audience keeps screaming "WE DON'T CARE" (referring to https://i.imgur.com/2LrgS6X.png). Seems as if they're truly disconnected from their player base. Ruthless would be way more popular if that's what we wanted. If I wanted slow gameplay, I wouldn't be playing Path of Exile in the first place. Last edited by auspexa on Dec 3, 2023, 9:19:27 AM

I didn't know you already played PoE2 endgame to know how fast it will be.
The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

" and you played poe 2 end game to know that he is wrong ? . Last edited by anti4z500 on Dec 3, 2023, 9:41:35 AM

Hopefully the beta next year answers a lot of our questions~
"For we are not now that strength, which in old days moved Earth and Heaven. That which we are, we are; one equal strength of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will: to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." - Ulysses, Tennyson

" No, and that is precisely why I don't make assumptions about things I don't know anything about. Thanks for making my point for me " I hope so too. Threads like this show there's a lot of uncertainty and people's brains go wild thinking about all the different scenarios The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge. " Why would they only show acts in teasers and showcase videos if the endgame is vastly different as you claim? Does it make any sense to advertise a product in this manner? And going back to my other point, why would they separate the games in the first place if the endgames are meant to be basically the same? They're separating the games because they'll be two completely different games with different target audiences.
" problem is that ppl dont think critically. its GGG so it will be perfect game mind set. ppl make assumption about poe because thats all GGG managed to marked for ppl. if marketing is all about slow game/combo gameplay/ less crafting/ long boss fights. why do you make opposite assumptions ? its like hei this looks like poop and smells like poop so all tell is poop but you stand up and yell nooo its chocolate you dont know because you did not taste it :D
" They're not trying to do that. That's the whole point of separating the two games. PoE1 will remain PoE1 with its stupid ludicrous zoom zoom gameplay, for the people who enjoy that. PoE2 is specifically designed for the people who don't like that about PoE1. Stop. Look. Think. Are you just jealous that the new game isn't being made for you, even though you will still have the old one? |
