It wouldn't surprise me if they did gem prefix and suffix at some point (based on some of the crazy stuff they've done previously that made my jaw drop). However what they revealed was already a crap ton of work that I imagine would have taken up their limited development time in addition to the league mechanic and ultimatum.
Also that's not what gaslit means. Maybe "are we being slow-played?" or something would have made sense.
Nah it's gaslighting as in over the last 2+ years GGG has repeatedly nerfed the crap out of things then gone to great lengths to obfuscate it and blatantly lie to their player base by trying to pass it off as buffs, improvements, or features. Originally for years they just nerfed things and straight up put it in the change logs without any BS or duplicity.
thank you!! You are not being slow played, you are straight up getting the shift. With each league, they are taking a massive ... rendering your time invested null and void, all while dangling shiny stuff disguised as buffs in front of you.

As some1 who given up on looking for right lab enchants since few leagues ago. I can only say that it looks like another nerf to make gameplay slower.

Ok, lotta people do, or I guess had to. This is far easier to get than a ilv 85 helm on a proper base with the 1/3 or possibly 4 enchants each with 2 different tiers. Also, now people who don't want to do heist can get the gems. Heist still has other valuable rewards but some of these were build defining.
Easy buff, and now quality on gems actually has value that is relevant.
Most of the times I didnt bother with lab enchant because getting it on exact helmet Im wearing was close to impossible (unless I would run it myself).
With gem I will just buy gem and call it a day. This is gaint QoL buff and I dont give a fuck that I lost some paper DMG that I wont notice because my build already have 10 times more DPS than it needed.

I'm definitely waiting 1-2 weeks to see if it's not Expedition 2.0. At first glance trans gems seem like a huge improvement to build diversity, but when you actually consider that we are losing quality and enchantments, it starts smelling of big nerf. For now it doesn't seem that that trans gems can compensate for the things that are being taken away, but I hope I'm wrong.

In short, Yes.
As it has been tradition, each League just switches around numbers and #carefully changes the *meta*. So the mythical casuals can get shafted while the lifeless tryhards can open excel again and start reinventing the wheel so to speak. Ultimately we are treading water since Harvest. Please buy the supporter packs so we can just. do. it. again!
