all MTX transferable to PoE2 have me worried
I am OK with transferring all cosmetic MTX but all inventory tabs as well???
I mean c'mon guys! you expect PoE2 to be good as a F2P launch with no need to purchase any inventory tabs?! Let's be honest to ourselves, without sufficient incentive nothing in this world can be done in good way, this holds especially true in video game business. They need to pour in massive coding hours, massive art/animation implementations, massive testing/correction phases, then several million dollars' server logistics to host the game 24/7 on top of dozens hard-working Devs who will only stay if monthly paycheck continues. I will not play/download PoE2 if what we heard is true, because I know it will be a lack-luster failure like so many other games on the market right now. I sincerely urge GGG to reconsider their decision and deliver a truly best ARPG game that we are all so in need! Make the game $70-100 at launch with ample inventory tabs, or just like PoE1, make us purchase different tabs. Don't get me wrong here, my dad isn't Elon Musk, I don't have too much free money to throw around readily, I just want a good game to settle down with (they are so hard to find nowadays). I had spent over $680 this year on games and NONE of them worth even $10 IMO. If $70 can land me a good ARPG copy I would do it in a heartbeat! If you players have been in this video gaming ecosystem for some times you already know how sh!tty F2P games can be. They advertise and lure players into try it free then pay-wall blocked players in every scummy possible way! I do not want GGG to fall into that category of offering a F2P game then milking $$$ from us in sly ways later. Last bumped on Dec 22, 2023, 5:18:05 PM

It's amazing how gamers think these people running a hugely successful business do so without any forethought, planning, modelling etc.

I didn't expect the '' Make me pay more for your game '' take but here we are.

This top post made me smile,
Firstly POE is that amazing ARPG. Free to play aspect of GGG and how they have handled the last 11 years. Thinking they know what they are doing. I mean I have spent over 3800.00 on my main account a lone. Don get it twisted, I would pay 50 for POE2, easy. But just because GG is following the same F2P doesn't mean they are going ot put out a shit game. I mean Have you been playing POE for the last 11 years? They are doing something right, NO? NOT all MTX are going to make it, Most will but it will also take a lot time to convert it to the new system. I honestly do not think everyone is expecting ALL MTX straight away. But, yea I kind of agree about the stash tabs. I have 84 Stash tabs in POE, I could buy a few more in POE2.
PoE is what is sponsoring PoE 2. They dont need to charge extra from the start. Also a lot of new people will join PoE 2, people who never played PoE, that will need stash tabs etc.

GGG's business model is sustainable enough to allow itself to do that, please don't tell a million-dollar company how to do its business.
That being said. " I share the sentiment, now, the game will be free, whether you like it or not, and it will not necessarily change anything that the game to cost $70-100. without share purchases of the current game, just as you say, would almost contradict the quoted statement below " Currently, Path of Exile is basically like this, it's free for you to try, but with a stash limited to 4, you, as a Path of Exile veteran, will understand very well that 4 stash is nothing after a relatively moderate amount of time. And the more you play, the more you will have the need of acquire at least one currency stash tab, Upgrade at least 1 stash tab to premium or whatsoever. Don't think that there is much difference to an average gacha, with different incentives get the same results, I have played games like Blue Archive, Afk Arena, Genshin Impact, Arknights, Onmyoji Arena, etc, etc, and I have never had the need to put money in, in Path Of Exile I have put in 44.59 dollars, I made my boyfriend put in 50+ dollars, many new players another couple of dollars. Furthermore, you are misusing the pay-wall you are talking about, the pay-wall is when a product or service is blocked by an economic transaction, that is, a payment to acquire that thing, which is basically paid games, putting path of exile 2 as a paid game, as you say, in addition to basically making it a pay-wall, it is classist, in the sense that, whoever doesn't have money or cannot afford it, just screw them like "you're not going to play our game go find a job", Not everyone can afford to pay 70+ dollars for something, much less a game. I understand that things are build on worth, efford, hard work and timelife, but under a logic and a sense of market, and GGG's objective is not to die in the most luxurious cemetery in the world. And being hypothetical, while it is true I have no problem paying the happy 70+ dollars, there is no need, the game will be free. The classist part is a joke, I found it funny and I put it in, I don't think you're a classist. Just someone with good intentions. but as the saying goes, hell is full of good intentions Venezuela es mi barrio, y odio mi barrio.

If GGG were hurting for money they would probably ask for a buy-in cost.
Another angle you may not have considered is that PoE 2 will attract a lot of new players (mainly D4 refugees) - who haven't yet bought stash tabs or vanishing dyes -rubs hands together evilly- Plus I wouldn't be surprised if they hit us with a bunch of new cosmetics and a sale once the beta drops. GGG have gotten $955 USD from me over the past 6 years so they're doing something right... Last edited by BlakeDrapeta on Dec 21, 2023, 10:20:44 PM

If I didn't get to keep all the stuff I paid for I wouldn't touch POE2 with a 10-foot pole. It's bad enough they strung people along for as long as they did letting everying think it would be an uprade to the existing game.
General discussion gaming forums are almost always a cesspit of ignorance and trolls.

" Uh you ever heard of blizzard?
"The company that has long run one of the most famously successful videogames of all time and made absurd amounts of money doing so? Yeah man you're right, that does seem like something you achieve through no planning whatsoever. My bad. |
