Why did they decide to take out divergent boneshatter?

Not saying I couldn't, but there's far better builds that I can run that would handle that specific content better. Does that mean that boneshatter sucks? No. I'm just trying to make the point that we lost divergent boneshatter, which was much better for end game content.

It's still the most played melee skill so it surely still good enough to run any content if you enjoy the ability.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

the goal is to remove melee from the game

Then they failed. Melee is better than it ever was.

how they fail 99% playerbase left is deadeye
The issue here is not that melee is good/bad.

The actual problem is that a lot of alt-quality gems enabled build diversity. For example, anomalous skeletons and anomalous minion speed were used by ward loop builds.

Granted they added new gems but some build options or playstyles were deleted.

If the idea was to nerf builds dependent on those alt-quality gems then it was the worst way to do it; which is to delete those gem options/playstyles.

Hopefully, GGG will add back all the deleted gem options (as transfigured gems) in the future and also expand on gem playstyles.

I think due to the nature of gems, some gems can have a lot of different alt-quality possibilities. Because the previous system only allowed 3 different variations, that put a limitation on gems with potentially more than 3 alt styles.

We probably might see up to 10 different alt-quality gems for a single skill in the future, hopefully lol.
I hope they will never bring back alt quality support gems.
