AGREED RE GW1. But Gw2 flew in its own glorious way. We will see how 3 goes.

Wc3 was a masterpiece for sure. Played it offline when i had no net and deeply enjoyed it. For a Metzen monster anyway.

For anyone wanting to play console for POE2, try out POE1 first. Or go read some of the console section of the forums.

Interesting take.

The existence of a ps5 trailer this early into its development says otherwise to me. The well documented failure of PoE 1 on console would, I think, prompt GGG to maybe start there this time rather than try to make a game so obviously made for mouse and keyboard work on a controller.

To be fair, 2011 was a very different time and a pc only game was far less of a problem then from an indie developer's perspective. But GGG aren't indie anymore and a console version of PoE 2 is absolutely essential.

I hadn't really given it much thought until that trailer dropped well before Early Access and I was like, oh. They really are trying to make console PoE 2 a thing now. Cool.

I can only hope you're right.
