Are you a fan of the sword Oni-Goroshi? -- 01/10/24: wow, a Blackloak-inspired essay!
First Fanart Friday post made featuring that moody-as-fuck Charan by lolozori.
I am so humbled by the idea of anyone forming a visual from my very abstract work. Let alone someone as obviously talented as this. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
Looking forward to Ascending in PoE2...someday. |

Fair enought.
About audiobooks tho - i had this thought. There are books that are better while litening than reading. For example - at least for me - Dune is such book. Reading it is kinda hard but listening it especially with good voice actor - thats a new type of experience. Nice artwork. |

Dune would work with diff voice actors for sure. I mean one of the sins of the Lynch movie was excessive voiceover.
Maybe I am overestimating the necessity of visual consumption of my work. I have narrated it a few times with varying success. --- I can't, however, overestimate what it means to get legitimate fan art as a fully independent author. Any engagement with readers is precious, but to actually be given some art back inspired by one's own attempts at art? Its so flattering. So validating! ...I have fan art that I neither requested nor commissioned. No one can take that from me. :) https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable. Looking forward to Ascending in PoE2...someday. " Version of Dune i have is read by one actor but man how he masters his voice is just amazing. Those multi actor versions are pretty neat, here just listen this for a while. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jPd3G-cm78 Yeah i get that. It is a great dose of satisfaction when You see that Your work inspired someone else. Last edited by de99ial#0161 on Jul 23, 2024, 8:01:33 AM

" I had fun putting on a croaky voice for Miss Master and a slightly imperious one for V, but yeah. It'd be...challenging for anything but a straight narration where someone has already read the book at least once or twice. __ de99ial: a good narrator is *extremely* valuable, and almost certainly not cheap. Too many indies are turning to AI and it's grotesque. __ Alrighty, time for a main post update. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

" Oh, it's a radio play of The Witcher in its native language. Neat. Not a huge fan of Sapkowski's style but there's no denying it's very popular. Apparently this had 84 voice actors! bonkers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZIMHq5KDGI This is a sample of probably my favourite radio dramatisation. Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. Some pretty big stars in there, all doing what they do best. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

The first Sapkowski audiobooks Trylogia Husycka" had over 120 actors in over 170 roles.
Its not about Sapkowski per se but the type of audiobooks that are made currently. |

On phone because I need a little break but thread title update.
Valid until release of Book 2. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
