Did GGG got affected by crowdstrike?
Several media are saying that the fix seems to be ready and is being pushed/patched out all over the world.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

The problem with the fix is that you cannot install updated KMS (driver) on the platform which cannot be loaded. You have to do it manually. For the greedy companies which hasn't spend a cent on the STD it's a lesson. Our company doesn't use Windows but every single update has being tested on the dedicated machine and only after that deployed on the servers / workstations.
PS Now ppl can see the huge downside of Rolling-Release model and learn lesson. Last edited by cursorTarget on Jul 19, 2024, 8:12:04 AM

" The issue is not a big deal and nothing to do with encryption stuff. We managed it in a few hours manually on our PRODUCTION servers, the rest is almost OK too. Trillon and 60% are impacted so what ? Run your IT better :) [Removed by Support] Last edited by Tai_GGG on Jul 19, 2024, 8:57:28 AM

Using windows as a production server OS is your first mistake and a costly one at that.
Remember that time Bill Gates did a world demo and it BSOD? Do you really want that company to be a variable in your success? Windows on a gaming machine is fine of course. I wouldn't use it for anything so vital as a production server.
First time I'm hearing about something like this, it makes sense why my Wife and I were having a hard time trying to play minecraft yesterday because we could not login.
Really enjoy the fact that a large, multi-corporate cyber company in the US is now a monopoly and oppsie boopsies like this are going to go unchecked.
" Agreed, however I think this also points to the larger problem that having a single cyber company that can do that is a problem. In azure they use linux as the background for everything IIRC.
" No doubt it is. I shy away from outsourcing anything vital as much as a I do overloading any service/routine/keyword. It's best to keep your vitals in the company even if it carries proprietary costs. That used to be golden rule but lost its meaning in globalism/cloud services.
" Meh. Losing 1-10% FPS in the game just because it's Windows... bloated Microsoft trash. |
