Game is turning into a glass cannon only builds
" Yes, as can be seen in my edit I posted a version without it. But fair enough, I missed the flammability thing, https://pobb.in/GR7QRHZAIRFk 3.5M without Ele Focus |

" ^Holy dominion. Thanks for giving it a go. Good ideas in there for sure, gonna look at closer it more when I have some peaceful time. I wouldnt have flasks ticked for bossing as they wont be reliably up. When you say take a hard look at defenses - do you mean your edit breaks them or that they still can be improved a lot? Anything major stands out to you? While I really appreciate the help I still think firestorm of pelting is borked and gonna receive a nerf. Would be very interested in seeing what you could do from scratch with self cast shock nova. When fallacious arguments aren't convincing comes the biased moderation. " Wouldnt divine guidance in here prevent me from casting by depleting my mana when I take dense damage? When fallacious arguments aren't convincing comes the biased moderation.

" The edit very specifically touched as few defences as possible (I pathed away from the instant leech to enable the cluster-setup but other than that I tried to keep everything intact if possible). I sacrificed some damage to get the Determination Watchers Eye and switched Steelskin for Molten Shell. What I meant with having a look at defences would be evaluating if its feasible to drop the points around Unwavering Stance and instead grabbing something like Crit Reduction+Divine Shield+some Damage. I feel like its also tempting to try to fit a Rational Doctrine into the build, might allow us to get close to Crit capped with a Dark Seer (which adds a lot of Defensiveness). In case the overall PoB feels "too doctored", which i could understand here are the big changes that seem low-cost with big impact: - Unnatural Instinct+Militant Faith (2 Div, 20-ish% DPS and cheaper mana cost) - Sandstorm Visage + Wand (relatively chill crit-cap, might also allow us to drop unwavering Stance), costs 10+ div though - Forbidden Flesh/Flame Illuminated Devotion (if wanted) and Sanctuary of Thought (Allows us to fit Zeallotry and downrank clarity, gives damage + mana costs + some EHP for 1-2 div Sadly I'm pretty bad at creating PoBs from scratch, I enjoy grabbing a skeleton from somewhere (such as poe.ninja, or in this case your build) and tinkering with it. " IMO you might miss some casts, but I dont usually see it as an issue. You can tinker with the clarity level, you should be able to go from 0 mana to "able to cast firestorm" in 0.2 seconds. " Great stuff man. This forum needs more of exactly this. Curious: When you say you not great at making POB from scratch does this mean you never make them even for yourself? When fallacious arguments aren't convincing comes the biased moderation.

" Not trying to be a dick, however thats precisely that Gameplay&Help is for. There are plenty people actively trying to help out and improve builds. Thats one of my biggest gripe with some players in GD or Feedback forums. Why dont they head over to G&H and ask for help? Describe the issue, post a PoB and a budget. Costs nothing and yields more often than not great results. | |
" i see a select few names. i just mentally scroll past their responses. tho i would give a glance. on most occasion theres little reason to engage. i ve engaged with a few people here and i think theyre far too gone to want to even understand my POV and only think about their POV. of course this applies to me too. then again everyones entitled to their opinions. i cant fault them for having a different opinion tho i can find it quite weird that theyre stuck with their opinion even when i bring up stuff that is fact. for example, melee sucking. even when the devs outright say this, they still adamantly say melee has always been fine. whats the point of engaging with such persons. its like wondering if whats in the box. then the owner says, oh its actually a bunny, i thought it was apparent? then the guys are like. oh hell nah. no way its a bunny. " the ones that usually complain about melee are actually referring to "trumelee" where you bonk the enemy with your stick. if talking about "melee" as a tag. theres many superb melee skills that dont actually feel like melee, more of casting spells while holding a melee weapon. " The problem with the whole "trumelee" stuff is that everyone has a different idea of what that contains. Not even talking about skills but scaling as well. Dual/Double/Heavy Strike and consorts as well as Sweep, Cleave and shit all hit with a stick but with scaling that stick can cover the screen with ease. Is that still true melee or not? If we go with the idea of hitting stuff with a stick at arms length then i'll actually agree that melee is and was shit. But imo that's just making your life miserable for no reason by putting absurd restrictions on yourself. I can understand why people don't consider LS a melee skill but this whole trumelee definition thing is a rabbit hole of infinite depth so i don't wanna go there. " this is exactly it " actually i dont disagree with you 100%. there is truth in your words. its something like, why do people complain about not being able to do maven. all you need to do is get a carry. everything else you can get from her you can just farm up and buy it. similarly why are we so insistent on bonking things with a stick when ggg gave us tools that allow us to attack the entire screen a gazillion times a second and melt everything? the answer is simple. preference. as much as you may say that we're limiting ourselves. the fact is we enjoy trumelee. poe when it first started had a decent trumelee game but ggg was quickly forced to make melee have more projectiles and aoe effects to compete with other skills. they kept adding stuff and designing the game with ZERO consideration towards melee. ironically, melee-ers are finally getting what they want via poe2. its gonna punishing but it would be fair. GGG does care about melee and tru melee to an extent just that in poe1 its a shipped that has already sailed. i have stopped bitching about melee and stopped asking for improvements for sometime as i kinda gave up on the notion for sometime. tho i would remind how melee sucks when i feel like it adds to the conversation. you seriously cant blame us trumelee-ers for wanting a proper melee "game" in poe1. its like if POE1 had summoner builds where every summon required to be cast over and over again (zombies work like raging spirits). its kinda summoner but not "trusummoner" to what people are used to. of course summoners would complain at that point. doesnt help that many other games make melee feel good. heck even d3/d2/d1/tq/gd all make melee feel good. trumelee even. in tq1 i loved overkilling mobs using melee skills causing their body to fly off a cliff. its really in your face melee with melee skills used to dash in to the enemy. melee skills with aoe components in that game tend to be balanced around CDs so you dont feel like a "caster using melee weapon". isit wrong to want a game to feel a certain way? " hmmm the problem with katabasis imho is it doesnt scale off of weapon damage. my fav skill viperstrike does exactly that. so its not too reliant on skill gem level. its interesting that we now live in a world where melee gem levels actually matter i think there are ways you can improve your gem level, tho its not gonna be too easy [Removed by Support]
