How to find Tier 17 Maps?
TLDR overview of T17 map loot:
1. Base chance exist for T16 map drops to convert into T17. Modified by socketing voidstones. 2. Map equity. Full explanations linked below, But basically every map that drops increases the chance at dropping the next higher tier map, ensuring you don't go on an unlucky streak for too long a time. Dev Q&A, it is the last question: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3130696 Atlas Wiki: https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Atlas_of_Worlds#Map_Equity 3. Atlas points. There are Maps nodes with points that give T1-15 maps a chance to become 1 tier higher. Map equity means this directly equates to more T17's. The notable Shaping the World is exceptionally good at this if you are killing the boss. Singular Focus- This notable atlas point DECREASES T17 drops. This is because of you gain no map equity when a non-favoured map is converted to currency. As a general rule, this point should be avoided in trade league due to the current value of T17's. Even if you only want a specific T16 map, you are better off just selling your unwanted maps and buying the one you want, as a single T17 drop will pay for 60 T16 maps of your choice. 4. Map modifiers. Running maps with higher quantity and pack size will equal more maps dropped. Unsure if rarity impacts map drops or not. 5. Cartographer's Scarabs. These will directly boost map drops, but usually not the most efficient. -Usually requires you run Alch n Go as your strat, since you lose the scarab slots needed for most other league content strategies. -Even if you want to run Alch n Go, it is debatable whether these are more beneficial than just adding scarabs that juice map difficulty/rewards, which equals more maps AND more currency/loot. I'm sure some or all of that was covered above or you already knew it, but hopefully putting it all together like this was value added for you. Personally, I run the following T16 strategy with a heavy atlas point investment in boosting T17 drops. Harbinger: Harbi's don't drop maps, but the mobs they spawn do, and there are lots of them. Map: 8-mod corrupted City Square. 8-mods have the best packsize and quantity, meaning more of every kind of loot. City square has 3 bosses, giving great value to shaping the world alas point. More than half my T17 drops come from map boss. Scarabs: Full harbi, no cartagrapher's. Atlas points: All "Maps cluster" points, with the exception of Chiseled Perfection (you can't chisel corrupted maps. Definitely take this if you run non-corrupted maps at all.), and a few of the small points from the center wheel. Eater of Worlds, will all pack size points. More eldritch mobs = more alters. Quantity alter choice = more map drops. I also run chance for ritual and shrine's in my strat. These both cause monster that spawns when map is launched, making those monsters affected by the maps quantity/rarity/pack size. Mechanics that spawn monsters once you are in the map, like Delirium and Beyond, are not affected by these. I average about 15 T17 drops per 40 maps. Keep in mind this is not a T17 farming strat. Harbinger's drop raw currency, that is the main source of income for this strategy, the T17's are just a very nice bonus. Here's the atlas tree. I can check it when I get home, I think there is a point that is off somewhere, but this is 99% it at least.

They are fairly rare if you want to spam t17 farm you pretty much have to buy them from other players. Main reason I haven't even been concerned with t17s is you have like no chance of finding them yourself at a meaningful rate. Again these maps are the gateway to uber bosses so unless your looking to do boss endgame your probably better off just ignoring them. Most of the people you see farming t17 on streams and stuff literally play the game 24/7 so they one can afford to buy them and two find a lot of them because of pure numbers of maps they run overall. If your even slightly casual they probably aren't worth your time.
