thats why i keep emphasizing. its 2024. things have changed a great deal. does POE want to be lumped in together with other mobile F2p titles or stand out as a beacon of how players support companies that respect their playerbase?

as i said to the other guy. i get that its part of advertising and that its part of the cogs that keep the lights on. but is it even necesssary now? GGG has the data. and ultimately its GGG's decision to keep such a outdated feature in the game where they can do so much better.

I'm the first one to applaud if they disable MTX in towns or anything similar.

Let's not forget that PoE is still THE game when it comes to player friendlieness in monetization tho. So to compare them to other scammy f2p titles there would have to be much worse stuff, especially since the hubs are in since the beginning anyway.

If PoE was all about advertising and selling supporter packs at league start they wouldn't have introduced Kirac's Pass or the Gamble Boxes. I'm sure it's the biggest influx of cash, but all those other parts still contribute.
The GGG Team also grew a lot since they started working on PoE2 and in general over the years.

So my fear is, that if they disable MTX in hub areas, they probably have to introduce another form of monetization to make up for that.
I don't know if u want that, I certainly dont. I'd rather deal with hubs that I can get out of rather quickly and can navigate around than deal with some other bullshit they might implement.

thats a very fair assessment and i agree with you 100%

to summarize

i want the shared areas removed but if it comes with the cost of GGG implementing some other bullshit thing that may cause players to enjoy the game even lesser than whatever we have due to the shared areas then i rather just have the shared areas.

Honestly it would be nice because every league I try to find that town with no one in it, like act 7.

I do the same thing XD
