Massively disappointed in playable characters and Ascendancies.

An easy one would have been to gender swap all the new ones and make one of each from the different cultures in the game.

I'm sure I'll forget some but, Azmeri, Karui, Maraketh, Oriath, Ezomyte, Kalguur and Vaal. Though that is seven so they should put Scion back in.

I applaud your diversity policy, wish it becomes possible in the game at some time.
Hell of a lot of work to make 100s of 3D items fit both a male and female frames (GGG aren’t Blizzard big or funded) or have customisable skins and hair etc.

EDIT: I swear with all the posting I’ve done this last hour or so, it would be nice if I could hit just one post with needing to edit out typos lol

They already have to do that though, it would be the same number of models. Yes they would need to model a big muscular woman, but that should be a source of joy.

Sounds like your main gripe is about the race (in game races) & gender of characters. Which is a fair enough point to raise, I don't care about it but if they can add it at some point down the track why not.

Wrong about build variety within ascendancies though.

Again I refer to my post before your reply.
It’s a lot of work (been there done that long ago), but possible. And I agree with your ‘diversity’ arguement, if they have the time and money to achieve it in the future. There is no critic from me on it not being there at start of ‘beta’ and it’s never been a thing in Poe before now so it’s a wish list thing imo.

I don't think they have to have do the whole 2 gender per class thing, that's just way too much work rn. But at least have have a 50/50 split on the remaining classes, and please don't just bring back the same old classes with the same old gender-lock. That would be so boring after first revelling like four completely new classes during the lead up(two of which we still won't be able to play on the EA launch).

EDIT: What the should've done was probably something more akin to Undecember. Two models but have them be customizable with a selection of bodies, faces, haircuts and voices. And then you just select a class on top of that.

Much less work and much more player freedom
Ninja.

Several of the new classes have significant thematic similarities with the old ones, what is really the thematic difference between Marauder and Warrior, Ranger and Huntress or Witch and Sorceress?

A lot of work but best would be to have each class have two option for body and two for voice (one more femine other more masucline). But this won't happen.

It's weird for me that they went with two women magic users, and two hunter women. Which probably will make some similar classes to be two men.

I don't know how I feel about spliting Witch into two classes. But maybe builds will show that witch can be a good caster (including elemental), and sorceress can have a good summoning build (including the undead).

Monk should have option to go staff or hand to hand. This could be achived with weapon that could be called "beads" or somtehing like that (or "martial art focus").
I liked the new Ascendancies. Some of them had really interesting mechanics.
However they felt to lack a little bit of content. I whish their would be more nodes to choose from in each Ascendancie. However I wouldn't want them to rush them and rather let them take their time to add meaningful new content to them.

Why witch and sorc? Probably cos they had too many good ideas and ascendancies for one so made another.
