Unable to link accounts

Hello there.

Ages ago I started playing PoE on steam and it was my first account.
After a couple of years I played on Playstation without linking my accounts.
Now I'd want to link those accounts together.
When I try to do that in My Account -> Manage Account -> Link Account, I receive a following error.

"

You must complete the unlock process before continuing.

I can't seem find any info about how to do that tho.

I am also recieving this error message as of this morning when trying to link my Steam account. I do have a possibility to connect my Sony/Playstation account. However, when i try to do it with my Steam account i recieve the error

"You must complete the unlock process before continuing."

Getting the same error and despite numerous searches cannot find any information on what this process even is.

Yeah, it was same for me.
I contacted support, but apparently they are swamped and they answer with huge delays.

Do you guys have a character(s) with outdated name on your account by any chance? Marked with red *. Logging into that char would force you to rename them.
I had a bunch of those and I was wondering if maybe that's the cause of the issue. Tho when I renamed all of them the problem didn't go away but I'm just curious at this point.

Getting this same message trying to add an email from a standalone account to this account that was made with steam.

Getting this same myself for Microsoft Account.

I recently logged into POE after updating it and it asked me to link my steam account. I thought that was a little strange but did so anyway. POOF! Everything I ever had in the game is gone. My characters, hundreds of dollars of MTX and stash tabs, it's like I've never played the game before.

My steam overview still shows my 1700 hours played and all of my achievements though. How am I supposed to get my stuff back? I contacted support days ago and it seems like I'm just in limbo.

Has anyone else experienced this? Huge L.
