POE early access key

I read that if you spent 480, you get a free key. Imagine spending 400ish dollars on POE and had stuck around since there were only a couple of acts only to be told that your support wasn't enough to test their game for them that was advertised as free too play. Kinda feels like a Diablo Activision/Blizzard moment for me here. I feel turned away, I might just keep walking away.

They are not releasing the game until late next year according to the interview and the game will be free at release.

I spent way more than 480 on poe and will spend even more, don't let the door hit you on your way out :) *raises glass*

The game comes out for free. The early access is just that, early access. You don't have to spend a dime more than what you already have if you don't want to.

Blizzard moment is when you pay 70 usd for an incomplete game and then pay further to skip tedium and progress faster in the game.

I think GGG is certainly trying to appeal to FOMO here, making you wait until the last moment before sending the free keys pushes people to buy rather they are getting a free copy or not, the wording in the check telling you to bribe a friend or buy the key also pushes this sense of urgency of being left behind so you have to buy now!. I question the tactics used here, and don't really agree with their methods however effective they are. I find them shady, not consumer friendly, and somewhat insulting to long time supporters. I think the key push out could of been handled better with a guaranteed date to receive the key sometime before significantly before launch to provide time for them to respond to tickets from people who did not get their key. In the end nobody should be starting even a minute late due to lack of keys. Not in a game where competition is often the focus even if its playful. Much of the hype comes from being there with everyone else waiting in those initial queues and setting off seeing the advancement of others as you progress. Missing that reduces the value greatly and to some its enough to cause people to skip a league entirely.

Actually i'm pretty sure ggg will give keys for players who spend more than 480$ lifetime, it's depends of time, we have to wait.

I'm thinking if we wont recive a key, we just have to mail contact support, that's all

Damm the entitlement sure is hella drug

Spend another 30 bucks if you want into Early access that much. If you don't want to spend 30 bucks wait until the game is released for free.

Hang out in Streams or something where Im sure GGG will be giving Content Creators spare keys. Maybe check in on Twitter, or even the forums or Discord for Key give aways.

There are going to be opportunities for you to get keys. For free. There was with POE1, there will be with POE2.

I've played poe since 2013. Spent around $400. But can't access.

They could have added some value for veterans. But nope.
