GGG has provided a great deal of preview material for PoE Too. I think those of us who have seen it have the right to form an initial opinion based on what has been presented so far. Or what is the point of the previews? Maybe chill and not tell people how to discuss things on a forum. =9[.]9=

Yeah, I'm not excited about how they're handling the skills and tying them to weapon types. Being limited to two weapon skill groups + spells seems pretty restrictive for PoE. And what about uniques? You're locked into using the designated axe gems if you find a unique axe? That doesn't spark much excitement to experiment.

Also, the visual fantasy people have of their character archetype is a starting point for many builds, and limiting people's ability to embrace that by for example making their sword and board wielding duelist pull out a mace just so he can leap into combat because GGG says only guys holding maces are allowed to jump feels silly.

I guess playtesting will show if it works or doesn't. And maybe later on they'll open things up for more freedom within reason.

It's fine. If skills didn't had any weapon restrictions every melee fighter would just use the strongest weapon skill in the game, ignoring everything else. Why bother making 100+ skills then.

But it's not like that. We have wand skills that are balanced around rather mediocre DPS stats of wands. Same with claw skills, axe skills, 1h sword skills, 2h sword skills etc. Imagine if you could use a wand skill with a massive 2h sword with 3k edps.
