PoE2 - one try per rare boss mechanic?

Kind of agree tbh. The whole point of Dark Souls for example is that you're supposed to die over and over again without losing that much(if you spend your souls before, then nothing, but you can also recover them if you do).

That's the balance why it's so hard, not that you get one try and then you're locked out of something

Apparently, it is one death and you are out of rare boss fights in PoE2. While I understand some of the reasoning, how can players even learn the boss mechanics and how are they ever going to develop "muscle memory" as it comes to the fight?

I am talking about players, not having the game as a day job. I wish that there was a way to do "practice runs."
Keep in mind that, even if you 'fail' the boss, they did not specifically say that would also close all your portals. All they confirmed is that death would update the map status to 'failed'.I think even if you fail a map/boss you can still re-enter and try again.

This would mean that even if you kill the boss after dying 5 times you would have still 'failed' the encounter due to your first death. This could be an opportunity to practice the fight if you are on Standard.

I am not sure on these fights if the boss HP will reset in Maps, because Maps do not have checkpoints. The HP could reset (in maps), but even if it does you can still practice the boss.
