PoE2 Key: Unnecessary Stress.

Handled much better? They spelled out exactly how it was going to work. I'm not sure what else they could have done(?).

I don't mean to be unkind, but at some point one must own up to the fact that they missed crucial information simply because of a lack of attention, and not the fault of someone else that provided it clearly and permanently for reference.

That's a quote from the forums. Not the FAQ.

The additional information was added in that specific reply. Should I be looking at every single forum reply or should I just assume the FAQ has the accurate information?

And yes. Not only could they update the FAQ but as I mentioned they could have iterated accounts during their first pass when merging and changing account to have numeric identifiers.

The FAQ Says "As we have also announced earlier, if you've purchased a top-tier supporter pack in the past or have spent $480 USD or more in lifetime purchases in Path of Exile on a single platform, you'll automatically have access to Path of Exile 2. In this case you'll receive an email (if we have one for you) and PM on the website that lets you know that your account has had access granted. We will begin inviting players in the next two weeks. Please note that the threshold is the same for all countries and does not take regional prices into account."

I don't know man....that FAQ post you linked seems to spell out exactly what you were asking. If you spent $480, you get automatic access, with a message or email or pm coming within the next 2 weeks.

If you THEN buy a package with keys, it stands to reason that those keys would be separate from your access that was already granted as per their post. Because those are the items you purchased, including a separate key. This is just....normal shopping.

I don't see why they should have to be any clearer for you...it is intuitive, straightforward, and crystal clear. Spent $480 in the past? Access is coming. Buy a new package in which a key is offered? You get a key.

It's like back in the olden days when games used to have those codes you needed to enter in order to install them. You are getting one from spending $480 in the past, and you can purchase another in a new pack.

It seems like your main gripe is that they didn't tell you whether you had access earlier, even though they were forced to delay the launch. To that I can only say....tough? Everything was delayed, the game isn't even available for another 2 weeks, and they already said you are getting access and even gave you a time frame. The only time you should reasonably be concerned is if the EA drops, and you still DON'T have access.

still waiting for my key too

normaly i wouldnt be so disappointed about it,but theyy pushed the release back and stuff like this, that have nothing to do with the game development itself should have been rdy at the first planed released date

this is one of the reasons why im not supporting the game as much anymore, every league is delayed etc
i understand that there might be a lot going on because of poe2 so im not angry, but its not enough to make me want to spent money

Nah... YOU should be happy you get poe2 ea this year! YOU should be happy because game is going to be large and development time could taken even longer.
I swear if they make some maven "Simon says" insta-death minigame, sirus, exarch ball minigame then i wont play poe2.

you are wrong

if they didnt sayy, theyy would give out keys to long time supporters i wouldnt mind

but they did

so beeing dissapointed about how its done is fair
I can't believe what I'm reading...seriously.

The release was delayed. I bet 99.999999% of their attention and energy is going to the game itself, and not on the release of "access" to the game. Naturally, if they are forced to delay (which btw is likely a last resort due to extreme pressure and background issues), it is natural to assume that the secondary project of releasing access keys would also be delayed.

Check yourselves people. What's important is getting the game ready. You WILL get your access that you are entitled to. Who cares if it came 2 weeks ago, or two weeks from now? The game isn't even available to play yet

Complain if, and only if, you do NOT receive access at the time of release when you are entitled to it.

do you really think customer support, which deals with transactions etc, can help in any way with the reasons why the EA was delayed?

*edit

most ppl are saying they are disappointed or unhzappy with how this is dealt with,i havnt seen anyone saying that they contancted support about it

a post in the forum is very different than a support ticket

It even says specifically to not contact support. So I don't.

I'm not sure other poster understands how easy it is to iterate a database. The Account thing was legit. Merging, Sub account, data verification, new options. That needs to be done very carefully. Iterating accounts for purchase value is far easier and could probably complete in an hour.

I use iterators a lot in development and modding. They're amazingly useful.

MY god.....it literally does not matter how "easy" you say or think it is. It does not matter which department is in charge of it, or who gets bombarded, or whatever other random thing being brought into this. The fact is, it wasn't their priority. PoE 2 was their priority. When they were forced to push back the release, they pushed back everything along with it. Even PoE 1 was affected, let alone this ridiculous feeling that keys are "owed" two weeks ago for some reason.

Move on. Grow up. You WILL have access....in 2 weeks or less like they TOLD YOU.

Jiminy cricket, the level of entitlement is absurd! And you folks aren't even missing anything! The. Game. Does. Not. Exist. Yet. Take a step back, and do some breathing exercises. This thread is about nothing! An unusable entrance ticket to a game that isn't available and where/why/how/who/what/when the guaranteed entrance "shows up". Frankly, we should have received keys 5 years ago when PoE 2 was announced! They certainly knew back then who spent $480 bucks and how they have previously handled betas.

Here I am just wishing I could give away my steam key they sent me as I have spent $1,500 on the game and think its kind of absurd to not get an additional key when a $480 current pack gets 5.

I think it is absurd to expect to get additional stuff for things you already paid for. The one key is something they didn't _have_ to do. It is purely a bonus. A nice gesture. Letting MTX carry-over is already a huuuuuuge loss of potential income for them.
