Only I think the hanging part at the beginning feels stupid???

Personally, I think the current PoE character select screen, from Return to Oriath, is also garbo. Give us back that leaky slave ship from the olden days:

Update the voice acting, if you must, but THAT was how we arrived on Wraeclast! ='[.]'=

its one of the best character selections no other game would dare to do something like that and PoE always been brutal if you actually read lore you know how dark and brutal is PoE world

I mean, at least if the ones who get hanged moved, it would look more natural, but they fall like dead weight and remain completely still hanging there, unnatural and cringe imo.

The char selection screen in the ship from the old days, gooodamn that was top tier ambientation.

That's actually how hanging is suppose to work if you have a decent hangman. The neck is suppose to snap from the fall not strangle the person. I think the drop distance is suppose to be 2 feet or so to snap most people's necks if memory serves me right.

Struggling after being hanged is just a show of incompetence by the hangman unless the intent was for the person to suffer. It wasn't uncommon for failed hangings to have loved ones put weight on the legs so they wouldn't suffer more then they had to (It's morbid I know).
i know it, you know it, everybody knows it

(i dont know what this thread is about really)

You are killing mobs with a random skills which freeze, set on fire, smash, explode and disfigure. While also raising the dead, transforming into demons, etc and the hanging at the beginning is where you are tied up at?

Without the gems the exile (the char we play) is a normal human.
true , it is stupid , its 2024 , if you tried to hang people you know there
would be at least 1 person there that eats 20 burgers a day ,
and when they drop them the whole scaffolding would break, and set everyone free.
I'm not telling a writer how to write their story. If I like the story, that's cool, if I don't, that's also cool.

I didn't know that. I guess the influence of movies is always powerful, making us believe that certain things work (or used to work) in a certain way. Good to know!
Well you're supposed to be playing the hero, right? In the campaign you are the Hero and that means you are the only one to survive. I'm sure it will make sense in the story!
Still sane, exile?
