I just entered maps. Damage is not too bad, even though it's a bit annoying to get the dots going and I have to backtrack a lot. Defenses are the problem and mana hungriness...

With my take on the build survivability was insane (a bit worse in high tier maps but still really good), clear was awsome, but bossing could see some improvement. Still very safe, but takes a bit more time than one would like.

I guess for red maps either ES or MOM is the way to go to feel completely safe (I'm life with partial mom).

For now my main problems there survivability-wise is monkey-boss and kitava-like statue. Haven't died on trash or others, but these two make me wish to have more tank (or get better with dodging). If I was on hc would 100% just skip them.

The only unfortunate part about going ES + CI (which is what I run) is my Chronomancer doesn't really benefit from cast speed or cooldown reduction. The Life recoup nodes don't matter, either. =/

I'm more interested in eldritch-battery MOM way. This way we still can utilize recoup, we will be able to benefit from crazy ES gear and maybe it'll make high-tier mana sustain less frustraiting. I've dropped a unique belt with 50% mana recoup, so will try to explore this route once I'm done exploring partial mom direction.

With ES approach, screen freeze and CD reduction looks like the way to go.

Does anyone know if the increased area of effect from zone control contribute to blasphemy aura for our curses? I'm thinking no, but then questioned myself.

So, as I'm reading this, is everyone just switching to hexblaster or is there someone still trying to make DoTs feel somehow decent?

And is there someone going Blood Mage? I really don't want to reroll, not feeling like doing the campaign again... I rather invest effort to try to make it work better.

1 button build for trash, bosses you can throw up your dots > drop totem > Hexblast spam. I hate the playstyle and skill but it is, imo, superior in every way.

If a friend asked me what "chaos build" to play I would tell them Hexblast.

I still don't understand how to reliably get gear on SSF).

Gamble at vendor, gamble with orb spam and pray for good drops. Those are your only options as SSF.

What supports are you using with hexblast?

OP hasn't posted his yet, and there are many different builds from other players. Doedre's ring is universal recomedation, the rest depends on the choices you made.

I focused on energy shield and mana because that is what makes mapping easy/safe. I grabbed zone of control because without it blasphemy range is drastically smaller, that single curse wheel is HUGE qol for mapping. If you want to actually boost your damage, then drop the QoL node of "Mastered Darkness" and let the demonflame stacks flow through you. That is legitimately the only way to actually scale chaos damage to anything remotely resembling high damage you see from other builds when doing bosses. Nothing on the tree will give you that.

Does more mana nodes solve the huge mana hunger of skills while in demon form?

There is a skilltree node that lets you apply 2 curses, I'd say its not a must, but the passive node does reduce the curse delay. I'm running double blasphemy tho, so the delay doesn't matter, but it has a 44% potency reduction.
