Is cost reduction so good that it is worse dropping Arcane Blosssom (15% multiplicative) and so many mana nodes? Will try, but I estimate it to be on par with Arcane Blossom.
Or, maybe I understand Arcane Blossom wrong.
Well, to be honest so far for me getting 7 mana per killed mob is enough to not run out of mana.

It is really +level dependent, for me the problem started around 30 total levels.
I think that gear with + mana on kill, may be a solution, as the problem is during clear. Have gloves with 35 in the stash, but can't fit them yet, without murdering resists.
I really think GGG should do smth with resists in SSF. Either rune swap, or at least resist auras in gems instead of scepters.

Thanks for the conservative Spellcasting tip. I looked at it, but somehow blanked that minor nodes nearby are so good. Will try tomorrow or today if I'll have time for one more map.

Did you try going for Conservative Casting to fix mana problems?
Tried it like this (as most expensive spells are on defensive swap, decided to keep it there, to free some offensive points).
Feels on par with my 10 mana-node setup, with better damage. Will experiment a bit more tomorrow, maybe add a little bit more mana (but not sure what to respec there without loosing in survivability).

So I've been playing a ED / Contaigon LvL 86 Chronomancer since Act 2 and I'm having a blast. Yeah its not super duper quick, but with my build its super safe in T15 Maps and clearspeed is quick enough to be fun. Especially after todays patch, you can really feel the 33% DMG increase for ED and Chaos Bolt I love it. Now the Bosses are a lot quicker.
For Trashmob clearing I just use lots of AoE and Hexblast is one hitting most. For rares I just cast ED or sometimes when theres a ton of mobs like Breach etc. I like to use Contaigon to get that satisfying ~everything melts away~
My Defences are 10k-25k (Grim Feast) ES and Faster Start of Recharge with CI, the tons of Slow from TempChains and Chronomancer Ascendancy. The Revert time is amazing to recharge Mana after using Despair and escaping Mobpacks.
I have Chaos DMG on nearly everything and around 11 +Levels total. All from buying <10Ex Items or 1Ex items.
Mana Sustain is completely fine even spamming Hexblast, with the Recharge while walking Node + some mana regen from gems / items. Flask for all the rest.
I am trying around a lot in Terms of support gems and what feels best but overall this feels like a very Solid and balanced Character. Wish I could share my Character but no clue how it works with PoE2.
Random one hit deaths are unavoidable even with 20k ES but are extremely rare. My Last one was few Levels ago, probably was a bug anyways.
Yes I know Chronomancer doesnt give any DMG increase but it's unbeatable Quality of Life and Fun for me!
Looking forward to this guide, to hopefully find many spots to improve my build even further!
This is good to know. I just got to cruel, around 51 now, and finally starting to feel decent with survive from the recoup and chronomancer ascendancy points. I'm now tryin gto decide if I want to go CI, or stack life. From your experience going CI, do you feel its the best option for chrono?

I think that MOM is also worse considering, it will allow to stack EHP way higher than life and with 50% recoup belt it’s possible to push mana recoup over 100%. It would be 5 sec recoup instead of 3 sec life recoup, but with EHP increase could still be wroth it.

That does sound like it could be a really good approach. As far as mana right now Im ok since im lower level, but will definitely consider that belt when I get my skill levels higher.

This is how i've been playing as a blood mage ED. Casual T15 map, dont really die much, melts bosses pretty OK.

So I always thought MoM and HP would be better for chrono, since you could then utilize the recoup nodes and fix mana issues. Probably is better.
BUT personally I love CI & ES (I miss my Howa CI Molten Strike Int Stacking Juggernaut)
So I went CI simply for personal preference, and got very positively surprised, Lots of ES Nodes makes it quite comfortable even without Flask / leech. Time Stop mechanics work nicely too, if you want to take a moment to recharge if it gets frisky with ground dots.
Here is roughly my current Build, I tried to quickly add the important bits, just have more resist and es and preferably mana regen on gear. On the Tree I´ll just get the rest of the 15% increased ES nodes, since I exchanged those for Mana recovery. Hope this helps some!
