Have you considered Minion Pact? It is way better than intense agony for bosses. For clear it's worse unless you spam effigy clearing (in this case it's way better), but only a little bit as increase in damage is negated with decrease of duration.

I've really been struggling with what to link on ed. In order to make minion pact work I'd have to have skeletons, unearth does not work. I'm not sure how well skellies would survive without a decent amount of life from the tree etc.

Look at my guide, it's a bit outdated (if you scroll this thread a couple of pages back you will find my latest tweaks), but it still explains all the mechanics behind ED scaling.

If scaled correctly you should oneshot packs till around T10 in campaign-tier gear. If you are on SSF I recommend to make a pause and farm T10 and easy T11 for a while, as difficulty increases significantly in red maps and drop quality increases a lot on lvl75 (spam T10 on +1 and +2 easy T11 on other nodes, you can even run white T11 at this point if you find them difficult). After an evening of farming you should be able to find/gamble gear to farm red maps ok.

And don't bother doing atlas quests for certain tiers. It's a trap to slow you down. They can be done in higher tier maps and there is no reason to farm ex. 10 of each white tier.

Oh, that's good to know!

Curious on how minion pact really works. So if I cast Dark Effigy, then cast a skill with minion pact(hexblast), I do see the life come off the dark effigy totem, but only on the first cast of supporting skill (hextblast). So does the 40%more damage persist through the dark effigy minion life, or is it once per cast of support skill, so cast dark effigy, hexblast get one cast with 40% damage from dark Effigy, then you need to recast dark effigy again to benefit.

It's one per cast (more if your effigy has enough life to drain it multiple times)
With hexblast it's probably not worth it, unless you use some cd setup. With ED it is very good as it is a dot and you can recast effigy before each application.

So is Chaos Witch basically cooked as an archetype for now?

I would love to try to improve my char but I don't know how at the moment. It seems any meaningful gear update costs divs now. I've become too frustrated with the endgame and I'm kinda stuck.

Clear doesn't feel good, survival doesn't feel good. Stuck on idiotic sanctum 3rd trial. Starting to do T4 maps, but mapping just doesn't feel good either.

Tried to follow Alexey's guide for some time, it helped a bit, but even with as much armour, life I could stack and 50+ chaos res, I'm a glass (wish to say cannon, but that wouldn't be true either). And the character is super slow.

I think ascendancy is the main problem, blood mage is just awful if you're not a crit build. It's probably awful even if you are a crit build, I don't know.

I would try to adjust something according to Ichigo, but since he hasn't posted any info in the guide yet... I don't know.

I could put the current state of my char in some PoE2 planner in case somebody would like to offer a few tips, but I don't want to do that in vain, if you get my point.

My advice: Either pivot to a Hexblast build and/or remove your points in Sanguimancy. With Blood Mage, imo, you want a build that blasts big dog crits to sustain and provide life overflow. That just doesn't happen a lot with ED/Contagion.
