Genderlock! Why 2 female magic class?? Why not a Male Sorcerer and a Female Witch?

There is 6 more classes coming, if one is not a male spell caster i will be pretty annoyed.
+1 as well.

I'm a new player and very disappointed that I can't play as a male witch (or warlock equivalent). I was really looking forward to it. Adding it as MTX feels mildly absurd when most games allow for both genders from the get-go on each character class. If I get to name the character, I don't see why I can't pick my own gender as well. That and the extreme and total lack of character customization is pretty off-putting when playing any of (x)RPG.

I'm not sure if this was overlooked (unlikely) or a conscious choice on the part of the devs, but I feel it alienates a large portion of the player base who prefers to play (or RP) as their own gender (or gender identity).

To those excusing the omission as either being story-driven (really? then why can I pick my name? if I were playing a set character, they'd already be named) or due to the effort required (I mean, they have the base models already, stretching some textures over two models vs. one isn't a herculean effort), it all seems pretty rather apologist more than anything else. It's just disappointing when folks were looking forward to a game to be a "pinnacle" aRPG to be missing some key "RPG" elements.

No thx, not needed for the 0.01% of the playerbase that actually cares about this nonsense.
Maybe Da the veilguard or concord or the dustborn is more to your liking if you care about stuff like this.

Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”
Sorry, I'm demanding my skin color and gender. I'm the superior one here. Cater to my requirements or I shall strike with a mighty blow! and give you a bad review on steam.

And be you warned. Once that is in place, I'll cry for pronouns. And only then shall thee find peace from mine torment.

Please be respectful of others wishes exiles, Less our own be denied.

And just some education on the topic here, These type of threads receive a lot of aggressive push back for some reason despite only asking for immersion to be improved.

Streamers have asked GGG this at their live events, it is very real and a lot of people want it.

0.01% isn't even a realistic number, its in the double digits easily.

Innocence forgives you

@frigo1#0585

dude i feel you. i have the exact same problem. i want to play a male sorcerer or wizard or a male witch and i hate the genderlock. i logged in to this site for the first time specifically because i wanted to people to see that there are more people with this issue.

I 100% AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID IN THE 1ST POST.

also what is mtx?

have you tried grim dawn one of my favorite diablo likes by far. it alows you to be a male spell caster. my main is an arcanist/necro.

anyways, i see there is an empty slot under the sorcerer class. i hope it will allow a male magic class. or even male witch. how awesome would that be.
Cuz its fun to watch incels mald.
we really need a like / dislike button on this forum ffs.
i'm not a fan of gender locked classes but this game ain't a MMO where you build your own avatar you'll be keeping for a long time. In some cases a good percentage of your real life (some WoW characters are 20 years old today).

POE characters are just vessels to carry fun gameplay in a league, and then they get tossed away to standard league. I don't have any big connection to them, therefore gender locked classes bother me less.
