Path of exile 2 menu no fps limit burning my GPU and CPU

Problem: If I don't cap my fps to 60 the poe2 menu makes my GPU go to 100% and burns it at maximum power for 180+ fps which is unreal because my fans are at max for cpu and gpu.

Alot of game engines do that. It's how it works for PoE1 aswell.
You should use Nvidia Control Panel to set an FPS limit for the PoE2 exe file. Gotta love this game meng.

Well that's the problem i have a 240 ghz 1080p screen and the fps in the menu is only 180 but it still burns it... it feels like it's a bug because a menu shouldn't take so much gpu and cpu power to make 180 fps and heat my gpus and cpu that much.... it feels like I'm running furmark and prime95 to stress test my pc and I just bought a 7900xt and ryzen 7 5700x3d and stress tested them with exactly those benchmarks and the temperatures are the same as in a stress test with poe2 menu which is definitely strange.

I did see in the options a limit fps in foreground, background and target fps.. so you should be able to limit it

Whenever I log in or go to another area other than camp, the loading screen throttles my CPU and freezes my entire PC, I'm somewhat CPU-bound due to having an R7 5800x and a 4070ti SUPER, but I have never had this issue in any other game!
I have hard-capped my throttle temp to 85c but it still doesn't sem to load anything. |

Also, there is a new GPU driver update that supports POE2 Early Access, so make sure you have the latest drivers installed. |

I am experiencing this same issue. GPU/CPU MAXED upon game start, with a maximum of about 7FPS. Unsure what is going on here, has anyone found a fix?

I am indeed playing on 120 capped fps with adaptible vsync but the problem is still there it tries to render something so hard in the menu and even while the game is in ESC(PAUSE new pause mode) while in campaign it runs at full speed even though there is nothing to render.
I would understand that my fans go brrrrr full speed when I spam multiple projectiles frostbolt and explode them with comet but just by being in the menu and having the game in PAUSE mode still trie to render at max. The problem is still there but with 120 fps max capped my cpu and gpu stay at a lower temperature even though the fans run at max from time to time. |
