Hard crashing PC locks up

Graphic artifacting after freezes

I've made it to Cruel Act 1 having sporadic freezes, trying all the tips from this thread as I've been following from the start. They maybe alleviate some issues, but process lasso allowing me to close the game rather than full computer freeze has been the only guaranteed effect for me so far.

But today after several hard restarts, I tried toggling Vulkan and DX12 to get the game to load at all, and now I'm experience graphical artifacts on my system.

Will send my dxdiag info to Timothy_GGG and stop playing further for now.

Disabling multithreading does fix crashing somewhat, but at a heavy performance hit. Game still crashed to desktop after a while.

Since the game is in EA, I would expect GGG to have a system for automatically sending in crashreports and not rely on people stumbling onto this thread by chance to see they need our dxdiag reports.

In general i agree. But those things are sometimes hard or impossible to do when the whole system crashes.

Hi everyone, whilst we have already been investigating this issue already, it would be massively helpful if you could provide your dxdiag output by doing the following on windows:

run > dxdiag > save all information

and sending me that file or it's contents in a private message.

Thanks!

Steps to reproduce:

Buy a new PC
Install the latest version of Windows 11
Play POE2 for longer than 2 hours

Jokes aside, this issue very easy to reproduce on very popular hardware. GGG surely has someone in the studio with an X3d and a 3080+ that actually keeps their PC up to date.
I have decided to stop playing Poe 2 until they fix this problem. In the end I'm going to break my PC by forcefully shutting down the PC all the time, since on every loading screen I have to pray that my entire PC doesn't freeze
