Hard crashing PC locks up

Hello same problem here, pc freeze during loading screen.

cpu : Amd 7800x3d
gpu : nvidia 4080 super
ram : 32 Go
Windows : 11 Pro 24H2

I have set windows compatibility to windows 7, set my cpu to 90% and set affinity -2 cores. Had my first crash today after 11 hours of play without it. Good thing is it didn't completly froze my computer(due to setting affinity to -2) and I could just end the game through task manager. Hope they fix it soon.

In other news, I was able to turn on "eco mode" in my BIOS, which lassos my CPU to use 65W TDP. This drastically reduced my temps (maxing out at 93c -> maxing out around 80c). I'd like others to look into this "eco mode" toggle in your BIOS too, and see if that fixes it for you.

I have my mobo set up to max 105 watts tdp in bios. Rest of my bios is default except ram is xmp 6000. No thermal throttling, have very good cpu liquid cooler. In poe2 and other demanding games getting around 50-65 c in game and around 70-78 c while loading, my gpu stays around 50-55 c. Will try to set back to stock mobo tdp and see what happens.
In cinebench 24 single and multi thread getting stable 80c.

9800x3d (stock no overclock)

4090
64gb ram 6000 xmp
Win 11

My whole computer was freezing every fifth zone transition or so. I was able to somewhat workaround this by disabling cores 6,7,14,15 by setting affinity. Computer no longer freezes when it happens, only the game crashes.

Using RTX 4090 and 9800X3D, on 24H2.

There's literally 100 pages on this thread and 70 pages on another thread about the game crashing, and you respond with the "works on my machine" braindead take.

It's windows, the game, and certain combination of setups. A technical problem could NOT be this widespread if it's user error.

You are braindead because there are countles examples itt that say they did the same thing and it doesn't work or it even happens on windows 10. Why do you come in this thread and mock people who have problems with the game that even GGG acknowledge them and even asked for our dxdiag.... If it was a windows problem we would know by now.

Same. This is the original problem of the thread, the new windows update 24H2 added a different way to schedule CPU tasks and this is interfering with how t he game handles the X3D CPU's and using Windows 23H2 fixes this issue.

The original problem is PC doesn't restart on these hard crashes, it just shows the loading screen and you can still hear the background music and you can also still move the mouse for little bit but eventually that mouse cursor will freeze after some time. But you cannot alt f4, alt ctrl del or bring up task manager simply the PC is hard frozen and the only way to get your PC back is to hard power down from your PC power switch.

And by people posting here a temporary fix is to disable multi thread in the settings before loading into a map which I'm assuming this is a CPU, Windows 24H2 update and also a problem with POE 2. You can clearly see if you have a graphic overlay on CPU skyrockets to 100% during these loading times which means there's some kind of CPU scheduling issue.

But now this 100 page thread is filled with other people crashing which is different from the original problem for some people this solution going back to Windows 23H2 is not going to work because their crashes is completely different so requires a different solution. This thread has become every one who is crashing for anything replying in this, so it's just a massive WTF crash thread lol.

Yep, it's OS / hardware issue. GGG can make workaround.
