Hello,
4080 Super and 5800x3d and Windows 11 24H2. Have the same crashing issue - for me it was when loading into other areas like Clearfell - I've tried a couple of things to stop the crashing as I'm unable to roll back Windows. Windowed Mode - Didn't work. Verify Integrity of game files in Steam - didn't work. Reset to full screen mode and changed Renderer to Vulkan - No Crashes so far, PC sounds like an airplane and frames have dropped - but playable. I'd be interested to know if this stops the freezing for others. Give it a try. Last edited by Danaconda#1489 on Dec 7, 2024, 2:27:58 AM

I tried two things, updating my BIOS and setting the affinity of the PoE2 process to not use every CPU core (can do this from task manager, but have to do it every time you launch PoE2). One of those things, I'm not sure which one, seems to have fixed the issue. I've been in game for 3 hours now with no freezes.
The lazier version of the thread affinity workaround is to disable multithreading in PoE2 settings, but then your game performance will be abysmal. Edit: Update on this. Apparently it was just coincidence that I hadn't crashed all last night. After the Hotfix 4 patch this morning, I'm back to freezing again, frequently. Setting process affinity does at least restrict the freezing to just the PoE process instead of my whole machine, but the PoE process still sits there taking up all the CPU it's allowed to until I kill it. I just had the video completely lock up in the Grim Tangle. I waited like 30+ seconds to see if it would unfreeze, until I heard my minions start fighting mobs (the audio still functioned normally), then I shut my PC down.

I think a lot of people cant downgrade to 23h2 because they built new PC's recently. If you go to download windows iso for a new pc, the only option you get is 24h2.

I did follow the tip about setting the affinity for the Poe process in task manager. I disabled one core and so far I have not crashed since changing it. Might be worth to try out.
