PoE 2 - I hate trial of the sekhemeas so much

I'm curious, is everyone complaining about the trial playing melee characters? Also, I've been playing with a shield and it seems very effective at mitigating damage at close range once you know the fight. I haven't actually tried a melee build at trial of the sekhemeas, but I'd imagine this would help. I've only done the first ascendancy on two characters, and it seemed very reasonable.

Agreed. It's an extra 'health pool' that doesn't refill fast enough and starts off already pretty low.

It's very anti-Melee.
It's almost comical seeing Sanctum as a trial that every build is supposed to do somehow. As a PoE1 veteran, I know what Sanctum builds look like, and they're HYPER specialized zHP builds with TONS of mobility and ridiculous damage that you can throw around corners (Hexblast, etc.) to avoid even being in LoS with baddies. To try and shoehorn this massively polarizing mechanic into the main progression system is bad to the point of being ridiculous.

It's the kind of design decision that makes players think "Clunky slow builds are NOT allowed in this game, you've done something wrong." when they fail for the 4th time on their Warrior and simply wash out of the game altogether.

ANY damage you take, blocked or not, is chipped off your Honour Health bar. And it does NOT start maxed out. You're lucky if you have 30% of it to start with.
Finally bit the bullet and decided to try the 3 trial sekhema on my warbringer

Strongly recommned you bring one each of the anti-dot (poison,bleed,ignite) charms with you. floor 3 boss is all about poison

It feels like 'honour resistance' is completely bypassed by damage over time effects, i was killed in a second by the poison trap on the first failed run, 2000 honour to 0 before i could move halfway out with 25% boots

on the 4th attempt i finally got to the third boss for the first time, and just wasnt experienced enough with the fight to get it down before it killed me, mostly because i got hit once by a burst of poison spray which deleted 800 of my honour in an instant

Just frustrating content, and i hated both sanctum and ultimatum in poe1

I actively avoid sanctum and ultimatum in POE 1 and I just hate how they shoved them in our faces to get the most exciting part about any build - the ascendancy.

I love everything else about POE 2 but these ascension trials are completely removing all the fun.

After many tries to get my 3rd ascendancy, I am level 77 and still can't get it.

The honor system is trash, the ultimatum build bricking RNG mods are trash.

GGG, ascending needs a major rework, please.

I just checked this in-game, and blocked hits aren't removed from honour. Using active block I was able to take several hits from mobs and none of them reduced my honour.
This sanctum shit wack I have attempted it 8 times now and die on the boss because of this honour crap, 2 of the fails was me stupidity it should not be this difficult with this tiny ass amount of honour you give, should be twice as much at this since my honour runs dry before my hp. Did not know PoE2 was going yhe dark souls route refund on xbox please I stay away from them type of games as my xbox hp with run out if I get too pissed off.
We all do. Even those that say they dont do.
Ascendancy points should not be behind this. First 2 are doable but 3rd and 4th is something 85% of the player base will never achieve. This is absurd and bs, we choose class looking at their ascendacies. Yet we are getting locked out of it. There should be at least fixated difficulty for ascendancy points.
