Continuous Stuttering/Lag Despite Stable FPS and Internet in PoE 2 Early Access
Still happening for me. Seems to come and go depending on when I play during the day.

every other time my herald of ice procs i go from 30ms --> 150ms and the game stutters, breach is unplayable which is unfortunate because I just invested my character into a headhunter... to kill breach faster... hmm

I have been having serious stutter issues as well, especially in town sites. When the game was released it was all good, it seems to have just started since this most recent patch. I am having a hard time deciding whether its the server I get put into or just a patch issue. Sometimes it will run fine other times horrible. I have to reset the game multiple times to get lucky and get put into a server that works, and when I open up my options to see the little graph everything is smooth but when I get stuttering it only reads as like 0-50mbs when I know it should be pumping out at least 300+. Not sure if this is game limitation or something out of wack with servers.

Breach is literally unplayable for me. Solid 200 FPS but the game slows and speeds up unpredictably and it's really ruining the fun. The same can be seen outside of breach in regular maps.
As others posted it seems to coincide with the time of day. Very unstable and frustrating ripping maps to this crap. |

I occasionally have the same issue, stable fps and I have a ping google.com -t open in another window with all perfect pings, but I still get constant lag spikes. I have noticed that sometimes if I leave an area (go to a new zone in game) the lag goes away, and it might be that this occurs when I rejoin an area that I had already partially explored, but this could just be a coincidence.

I've been experiencing lag/rubberbanding and stutters a lot since the latest patch. It comes and goes and doesn't seem tied to any map or mob count. I've tried different graphics settings, but my fps doesn't drop at all regardless.
It was silky smooth before the last few days too. |

can also confirm this is an issue, especially with australia servers at peak hours

I have just started to experience this issue. I have a stable 1GB internet connection, but my latency is going from 30 - 150. The number is just so rapidly changing. It is impossible to play

I am having the same problem. Internet is high end, any other online game i play is smooth as silk but when i boot up POE2 it just stutters and lags like crazy that I can't even play. Also spent the time to try every server available just as a Hail Mary attempt and still the same issue no matter where in the world I choose. I hope they fix this otherwise what's the point when you cant play the game you paid for lol.
What I don't get is how can it be so bad for one person and another has no issues even if we are on the same server etc. Can anyone explain that? |

Just wanted to join the crowd.
Server Gateway = Australia Current Character: Witch-Infernalist (w/RS and Arsonists) - trust me could be important since others have mentioned that skill / ground effects seem to exacerbate the problem and I incline to believe it, but then again I have been accused of being crazy. Issue: Since last patch (17/12)2024); primarily during combat 'stuttering' will start (and based on the mob size) will get so bad that it appears my character is moving in slow motion, once the pack has been reduced or eliminated the game will speed up, to the point that it feels like I have 150% movement speed on my boots. This has been fun (at times), but more often than not my new found warp speed ability will place me in the middle of an area or mob I really don't want to be in. I have not seen this happen in the town hubs of the Acts, nor does it seem to happen with small mobs (3-5) or once an area has been 'cleared'(another words if the map is empty I can roam around to my hearts content). Interesting side note- this issue got so bad I decided to roll another character, I was fine up until late Act 2 and then into Act 3. This is the point where the mobs starting getting larger and of course I had more Arsonists. Notes: - Have tried several other games (standalone and on-line), no issues - Have tried several of the recommendations in this thread, all to no avail. (e.g. dying to change the 'instance'(trust me this happens a lot, and I'm sure my neighbors are more than aware of my dying so I can change server instance.) / change network mode / drop Nvidia Reflex / drop loot filter / sacrificed a goat in my front yard / downgraded driver / upgraded driver / banned all grandchildren from the internet / threatened a random stranger at my local / etc, etc.) - I would have posted a video but I can see several others already have. - Seems to happen at any time, with that said it does seem to get worse during peak times. Look I worked in IT for more years than I care to admit and I've seen really bizarre things 'fix' a problem before, so none of the suggestions in this thread are out of the realm of possible fixes, however I suspect that those who claim that it worked merely ended up on a new shard/server/instance and are now happy as Larry and I"m happy for them. But I have tried most if not all of the suggested fixes just for giggles, in case you weren't sure or didn't want to mess around with stuff. I would agree with several people on here that it does seem to be either a coding or server hardware / routing issue. Misc info (for what it's worth): - Win 11 Pro 22H2 (x64) - CPU = i7-13700KF - RAM = 32GB - GPU = Nvidia RTX-4080Ti (Nvidia Driver = 566.36 05/12/2024) - Disk = Samsung EVO970 M2-SSD (separate gaming disk) - Network/ISP = 100MB/20MB Aussie BB Is it too late to send Santa a letter and ask him to fix it..?!? |
