Continuous Stuttering/Lag Despite Stable FPS and Internet in PoE 2 Early Access
" Same for me. Usually about 4:30pm pst until about 9pm pst daily. Tonight seems worse though. I usually can switch to Texas proxy and it works fine but tonight its spiking from 45ms to 500+ms. My California proxy is usally 9ms and spikes to 500+ms sometimes up to 2k! I have 1g fiber and play on a mesh system but am I wired into a mesh node. Running ping -t 8.8.8.8 my ms is 11-13 and never goes higher. Sucks they can't fix this. |

Everyone here is running AT&T? And is everyone based out of California bay area?

Found a fix that worked for me so far, but it's specific to Wifi:
Settings -> Network and Internet -> Change Adapter Options (opens new window) -> right click WiFi -> Properties (opens new window) -> Configure button -> Advanced tab -> Wireless Mode -> from the drop-down menu on the right, select IEEE 802.11b Not sure if there's a similar setting you can change on a hard-line connection. All week I was getting constant, game-freezing hangs that the F1 screen showed as network lag. None of the other suggested fixes on this thread or Steam made a difference, but tonight I got nearly three hours of play with zero freezes. Credit to KOLA on Steam; I hope it's a simple fix for at least one other person who's been struggling to get the game playable again! | |
" It helped, thank you. |

Well, i tried all of the many tips now, but none of them is working for me. What i finally found out is, that the problem seems related to a WLAN Connection. If i use a cable connection directly to the router there is no lag and no stuttering anymore.
I never had problems with other games. Its only happening in PoE2. I tried WLAN-b only, i tried Exitlag, i tried the config settings, no success with none of them. Something seems to not work correctly with the WLAN Adapter and PoE2. The question is, what is the final solution? I think the most of you with this problems also use a WLAN connection. You can try to use a cable only for experimentation. Its completely without lag then. Maybe some of you can confirm that. I know, that a cable cant be a final solution for most of us, because if it would be possible then we would play with a cable. Maybe we can find a solution somewhere in the WLAN Adapter options. But at the moment i cant solve the problem finally. |

It was perfect during the first weeks after release. But now it's barely playable. I keep losing endgame stuff due to stuttering.

Update: I finally found a solution that works for me:
https://www.reddit.com/r/summonerschool/comments/4okzog/how_to_get_rid_of_ping_spikes_on_wireless_helped/ It has something to do with autoconfiguration of WLAN networks. So the WLAN Adapter is constantly searching for new nearby networks and this is causing spikes. In PoE2 its more noticable than in other games i think. By doing the steps in the link, the problem is gone for me. In short: Start cmd window with admin rights (important). Then How to get rid of ping spikes on wireless! (Helped me a ton) If you are experiencing constant ping spikes every 30-60 seconds or so, it might be do to your WiFi trying to search for networks. Here is how to disable this feature. in your windows cmd, type in netsh wlan show settings -> press enter and one of the last things might say Auto configuration logic is enabled on interface "Wireless Network Connection". if that's the case, then type in netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no interface="Wireless Network Connection" The word in Brackets is your WLAN Adapter Name, mine was „WLAN 5“ for example. It should respond with Auto configuration has been disabled on interface "Wireless Network Connection". If it doesn't, then you might have mistyped your interface=" part. Check in your adapter settings, you might have Wireless Network Connection 2 or 3 etc. This will definitely stop your wireless card from searching for nearby networks and updating your signal quality when you're not asking it to which is what is causing the spikes. You will need to turn it back on if you disconnect or need to be able to find nearby networks again. To do so change disabled to enabled from the earlier command or copy paste netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=yes interface="Wireless Network Connection" Good Luck! ***Note: instead of "Wireless Network Connection", it may be "Wi-Fi" for you. Use that instead*** Please let me know, if it works for you too, if you play PoE2 by WLAN. |

The problem is with the servers, not our computers or internet connection. I played yesterday and everything was fine. The problem is on the developers' side
