For those confused on the mechanics of culling strike, it checks the threshold before the hit occurs, meaning they need to be below the culling threshold before damage is dealt.
This mechanic also only works with Hits, meaning DoT damage from poison/ignite/bleed don't count. While it doesn't seem to be stated anywhere, culling strike works differently in multiplayer than it does solo. In multiplayer the culling/decimating strike thresholds look like they use a flat value instead of percentage health to trigger. This means that if a white monster has 100 health in single player, the threshold for culling is 30 health. If that same mob has 200 health in multiplayer due to scaling, the culling threshold is still 30 health. This makes it really hard to predict where the actual culling threshold is, but it does make sure its effects are consistent across all modes. |

Culling Strike works for rare mobs and boss-es but for normal and magic wont work, please fix it asap

" I thought it worked with any of your damage if you had "culling strike" in such a way like this aka not just linked to an attack, as it becomes character bound. Are you making an assumption or is this statement backed up somewhere? Either way I feel they should revert the check before the threshold and two fix it! |

If you hold alt and view the tooltip for culling strike, i believe it specifies only damage from hits can trigger it. The culling strike from the ascendancy passive adds culling strike to all hits from your character though, so any skill you use should work. I'd need to double check, but I think it also applies to any of your minions/totems as it seems like the ballista shots culling enemies.

Culling doenst work in party play, if its the fixed amount like you said its just utterly useless in party play.

Culling Strike on Witch Hunter is working inconsistently. Have 25% increased Cull threshold and white mobs are clearly hit while already being below 37% health without dying, same for blue mobs 25% health. |
