Honor mechanic makes me hate path of exile 2 already.

My problem isn't the honor. It seemed fixed and more fair, as your honor is tied to defenses rather than a set number. Enemies seem fairer and as a melee character I made it to the boss. However, the boss is the problem. I was all in for giving a couple sanctum runs to get the boss studied and hopefully killed. However, my first go, despite getting him close to half-health, I felt that fight was extremely unfair. I wouldn't have a problem with the volcano mortars if there weren't so many, placed randomly, and took forever to vanish. And I tried to pay attention to his tells, but I can't tell when he's doing his nova except when it already happened and hit me. It was hard to get in, it was hard to kite him, and most of my damage came from my ranged melee fire attack and my shockwave totem. It felt like it was a damage check I had no chance of winning, despite coming in with nearly full honor and have solid damage.

I felt he was too tanky. I felt the tag-team with the mastodon and the wraith was much fairer than this fight. I don't want it braindead simple, but I don't want to feel there is no chance in winning if I go pure melee.
Just stopped by to say that ascending through sanctum mechanic is the worst idea I've seen so far in EA.

If there are Sanctum enjoyers in POE2, then by all means keep it in the game but ffs detach ascendancies from it.

Attitudes like yours... PoE is a game of efficiency and speed. People have to be able to it the same as anyone else at the level it was meant to be done or GGG has failed.

Sanctum was a very specific mechanic you made your entire build around doing. Trials are meant to be done by every class and every build you are given. As usuial though some people want to have a massive leg up on their fellow players that whay they can get a huge advantage in game over other players.

Basically you are behaving like a greedy mega corporation who wants the smaller companies to jump through regulatory hoops to compete with the corporation who is paying millions to keep the regulations in his favor to keep competition out.
Honor system in the labirynth is trash. I'm going back to Warhammer Inquisitor, the void crusade there is so much better, so much fun and rewarding.
Just throwing my hat in here on honor being the one thing I absolutely, unreservedly hate about PoE 2. I have Opinions™ on difficulty, loot, currency, lots of stuff, all of which there's a spectrum where I could be content. Honor has no such range in which I could like it. It's awful.
In the pile of bad decisions that has become POE 2, the honor mechanic being included is somehow one of the worst.
Amen. Get rid of honour trial please, replace it with something that's actually doable at level 22.
I don't think I posted to this thread BUT my opinion is that every ascension [1-4] should give you choices of up to four mechanics. You pick your door and boom it's time to set up your mechanic.

Perhaps Sanctum is there for the fast, zoom zoom players.

Perhaps Ultimatum is an option for the builds that can handle it.

Perhaps you have to fight a number of bosses without dieing. After a certain number of perfect performances you ascend.

Perhaps they bring back something I liked but many hated .. ToTA. If your build isn't particularly good yet no bother. Just run a tournament, build up some minions with certain skills, and then see if you can win against an enemy with similar minions.

As long as you make most of the options last roughly (?) the same amount of time and have similar overall difficulties then I don't see a problem with it.

just dont do it at level 28? the level 1 sanctum is honestly really easy lol. just like lab you might need to adjust your build a bit for it.

Do you even know what the honor System is? It means you can't get tapped or glanced by a hit. It doesn't mean that if you die your run is over. It means that if the boss pops those volcanoes on you and they're each spewing 10 projectiles per second even if you take very little damage those little hits pile up and you lose your honor. It has nothing to do with survivability or what level you are.

...I look at the new act 5 boss where you have to hide behind the statues to survive the bullet hell and all I can think is... how the fuck are zombies going to survive that?

They don't know what hiding is... they don't know what dodging is... they are morons.
Yep it's awful and completely ruins the game.

Let me go run lab and play my damn class.
