POE2 isn't "Hard." It's unfun.
It's tedious, slow and kinda boring tbh. I don't wake up excited to log in. I get tired while playing it.
The magic, freedom, creativity, fun and joy of PoE1 are completely missing. It feels sterile, liminal. PoE 1 is The Sopranos Season 1-4. Comfy, funny, re-watchable and entertaining on every single re-watch. A timeless masterpiece. PoE2 is The Sopranos season 6. Dark, depressing, devoid of color. Still good but I don't wanna re-watch it. One time was enough. Last edited by rzuk892#2901 on Dec 14, 2024, 5:47:39 PM

POE isn't hard it's punishing.
Every boss boils down to pattern recognition and muscle memory so once you have a general idea of what you are doing the challenge falls off a lot. However, learning and dying (especially beyond the campaign) costing you map bonuses is an unfun punishment. There is no good reason to be as punishing as the game is in most cases, nothing for the player is gained from this. There is hardcore for those who want to play to be punished and there is core for those who just want to have fun playing an aRPG. Outside of this however the game really is kinda boring. The campaign takes a LOT out of you, especially if you've leveled multiple classes. The maps are way to big and empty and the acts drag on, only made worse by having to repeat run A1-3 over while we wait for A4-6 to come. The currency drop rate is still terrible, especially during campaign. I just finished a 2nd campaign run on a Ranger and I got a total of 6 ex the entire time. 6. When you need 3 for every item to take it to max (I know it's waste, just as an example) what the hell good is 6 across a 20 hour campaign? You are forced to rely on drops (or checking the vendor each level), not on the crafting system which is boring. Maybe they could add in exalted shards that are a much higher drop rate but only work for gear below lvl 70 or something to make having fun while crafting still a thing. " We are mindlessly spamming dodge roll over and over. wtf you on about? |

Its not unfun but is not the definitiion of fun too ,its frustrating sometimes because of the mindset of ggg that will never change and i respect that, they have their "values" and they insist .
I played a lot of poe1 and now poe2 ,i must admit i enjoy poe2 more and i will not play poe1 again ,theres no reason for me because 2 is improved on everything and its only the beginning . Theres a mentality in modern videogames that i dont like it at all and i believe ruined the definition of entertainment forever ,the mentality of competition with others or with ourselves and the mentality of hard videogames, the thing almost everyone misunderstood is that hard games most of the times are not hard because they require a lot of thinking but because of....on purpose bad controls and clunky gameplay .For example Soul Like games , i played most of them and ALL have mediocre to bad control, dodges have a slight delay ,camera is horrible ,respond of your character is bad ...Now why im writing this , because POE games are suffering from this characteristic ,POE1 movement spells like flame dash are horrible and the new dodge mechanic in poe2 have very slow respond if you compare it with other arpgs .Something tells me they will fix this . I will tell you stick with one class and dont change , its hard at first but you feel the difference as you level . Im 72 infernalist srs and i have around 200 deaths .....i think its a good number because i see others with 300 and 400 deaths |

I was having fun until I got to the endgame and realized that it wasn't as rewarding as I would have hoped. Once I saw that you lose a decent amount of experience when you die in atlas maps, I was pretty much done with the game. I know they had this mechanic in POE1 but it's so unnecessary to me. Give the players a chance to level all the way up and use those skill points to really play with the skill tree.
Crafting material drop rate.. I think could be a little better but it's honestly not too bad. The gear itself in the game is lacking. Not that there isn't enough gear dropping, there just isn't enough variety of it. I'm not a fan of the dodge roll mechanic personally, which is a bummer since that is what the entire game is built around. I can literally look past all of the flaws except the experience loss on death. That is the nail in the coffin for me. |

" PoE2 is a brand new game with a lot of people jumping on it due to overhype and marketing. PoE had its last league launched 5 months ago. You can check the charts next league launch, see what's what. |

"So many shit eating elitist morons claiming the other party are the minority when its them themselves that are. The same morons saying "theres literally nothing wrong its perfect and everything I want" have been proven wrong just from GGG fixing drop rates and other shit alone. Total dicksuckers with 0 actual valid or helpful input or opinions. |
