Lesser Jeweller's orb unable to add a 3rd socket to Skill

I’m having this issue with pathfinders concoctions. When I select the jewelers orb the concoction skill goes grey and I can’t pick it.

also same issue, just beat jamanrah in HC and it seems pointless to continue if I cant make it better. I assume its on purpose, but as its not disclosed why I cant use the orb, it just feels really confusing.

" If it's a skill granted by a passive (like Poisonous Concoction) or by an item (wands, staves, sceptres, etc), then it is on purpose. For these skills that aren't granted by gems, the skill's level and number of sockets are determined by level. Skills from passives are based on character level, while skills from items are based on the item's level. |
