0.1.0b Patch Notes (restartless)
TBH I don't really care about this nerf by itself, what is concerning is how every single nerf is just making the skill do -300% overall dmg.
The philosophy of "nerfing every build that makes too much dmg" is what killed D4 after everyone have finished the campaign and, I'm sorry to say this but, this will happen to PoE 2. The game is just not fun to re-play, its good for playing it once and leaving, like a random Souls-like game, but it has no replayability if the game is a slog to play. Even Elden Ring (or any Dark Souls) have BROKEN builds and its OK, this is an ARPG, the game is supposed to be broken in that regard, players are supposed to find this builds but if you are going to nerf every creative build that people found its just... sad. I think that this is exactly what GGG wants, make the game as slow as possible, only good for 1 run during EA cause thats is what non PoE players want (You only need to see the divide is mostly PoE1-players vs non-PoE1 players at this point) and, again, I'm sorry but making a game for people who hate the first one is a weird decision. PoE 2 exists cause of PoE 1 and the players in that game. The hype around PoE 2 is thanks to PoE 1, don't forget that. |

" Comparing the uncomparable! Diablo has such an issue because they're balancing around ITEMS first and foremost. The numbers are also completely through the roof, we're talking millions and billions of average damage, where POE2 is in the thousands. It's a completely different scale. And wtf is that about Elden Ring, it's a SOLO game. Sure it's meant to be broken because it has no impact on anyone else? On POE2 there is an active trading economy, having broken builds (which is just bad balancing) would just mean giving an advantage to some, as well as a huge FOMO which they're strongly against lol |

You can either first nerf all overperforming skills, then give all skills a much-needed power boost or the other way around.
Just... don't forget the boost. Soon. Very soon. Also boost loot overall usefulness A LOT as you promised (in return for having much less loot) and increase crafting drops by 500% or more so it becomes actually viable. Decrease vendor prices, add a way to get lots of white bases quickly (i. e. not drops lol) so we can craft them, return reroll of magic stats (who tf thought it's a good idea to remove that). Remove 30-50% monster HP through the bank (not bosses). For the love of god, give us decent travel skills. You want no "zoom zoom", fine, kill speed is abysmal now so no zoom zoom. At least give us ways to traverse the annoyingly big and labyrinthine zone tiles. I spent 30 minutes finding that witch in A3 to kill her. THIRTY. MINUTES. IN. ONE. REGION. |
