GGG please don’t lower the difficulty!
Agree, I've been playing PoE for over a decade and everything about PoE 2 suggest a return to the original early PoE 1 days. PoE 1 has become something unrecognizable. It's no longer as fun for me over the years because every achievement or goal can be accomplished with little time or skill. One of the main factor has to do with gear drop. No one "finds" good gear anymore they just type parameters into a website and buy things on demand, or have to craft using another website and multiple spreadsheets. 99.99% of uniques are vendor trash, because no body buys them, because that's what 12 years of power creeping will do and it's a waste of inventory space, so its better to not even see them on you screen which is why you cant play PoE 1 without a loot filter anymore. Whenever I get a unique drop in PoE 2, my heart starts pounding. The rush of adrenaline floods my brain as I rush to pick it up. Even if it's not something I can use, I can sell or trade it, or keep it for my alts.
A lot of the complaints about loot, are people who can't even dodge a simple auto attack consistently from a boss. What they want is to gear check the content instead of of a skill check. I saw some complaints about getting surrounded and not being able to roll thru enemies. That again just sounds like a skill issue. If you can't stop yourself from getting surrounded, then there are tools to fix exactly that. There is a unique that allows you to phase thru enemy while rolling, there are skills gem like lightning warp, leap slam,(unless they work differently then Poe 1), you can freeze, knock ack then roll, so many ways more. GGG gave them the tools short of shoving it in their faces, but they just refuse to even looks around for them. But not all complaints are bad, the map area size could be scale down a bit, and less dead ends could be nice QoL without making the game easier. People simply needs to get this thru their head, PoE 2 is NOT PoE 1. It's not a sequel, it's a completely new game and yes, it's a hard game, there is a market for it, look at Elden Ring. If they want an easy game, there is PoE 1, D4, and last Epoch. PoE 2 should remain hard, it bring variety to the genre, it would be a huge tragedy to make another clone of PoE 1. And if that happens then perhaps Rod Furgerson was right and we should just call PoE 2, diablo-like. |

" Did you do lvl 100? Did you farm your own Original Sin? Did you farm a mirror? .... Which of these challenges can you do in poe1 with "no time an skill"? Also hard disagree on OPs post. Last edited by S1nister#3313 on Dec 9, 2024, 11:51:34 AM

Yet another person who totally doesn't get the problem. PoE2 is NOT difficult. It's just tedious and boring in many aspects. Boss fights are great indeed, but the maps are way too big without movement skills. Killing trash just takes too much time, is extremely repetitive and boring. And there is way too little loot.

Why is it so hard to add different play modes, story, regular, difficult, hard, to make the more accessible to those of us with various physical o medical issues that keep us from playing at a higher proficiency? The people who like the hard stuff can play on the higher difficulty. And those of us who may be older, disabled, or on various medications may still enjoy the game and the story.
I usually shy away from isometric games. But the hype got me on this one. I purchased the $160 early access. But can barely play the game. Constantly dying. If they cannot give me some love and an easier mode, I will have to request a refund. |

+1
I want GGG to kill PoE2 before it even begins so they don't split the playerbase from PoE1 and make trading even worse than it currently is. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish. |

Well i agree with OP, please don't lower the difficulty im having too much fun and it is perfect, the grinding is real. Also i think the core fans want it like that. As said, there is other games on the market that are easier anyway
But after reading some feedbacks i guess an easy mod (no idea how to balance it, for loot and everything) may be needed to keep new players to the genre and liscence. For campaing i mean Last edited by Loutremaskey#7886 on Dec 9, 2024, 1:36:52 PM

I think the difficulty is good, if anything make the bosses harder (not trash mobs)
The feeling of killing a boss is so good, it feels like you're playing Dark Souls for the first time. |
