Guys, just keep 100k+ gold in your inventory for respecs and don't forget that this is a beta test))

so much whining, as if we were discussing d4)

you copied broken builds in the first 4 days after the beta was released and now you're whining like casual kids)

bro the campaign is awful like 20-30h of huge zones and the respec costs are massive (its a beta test right? why are respect costs so high)

they don't even bother to buff the badly performing skills, they just nerf the builds they see streamers play? it's so bad it hurts
they should care less about the people watching the game on twitch streams and more time just trying to make a good game

all this is going to do is get people to quit. like why punish people for actually playing your game lol

I didn't even play these builds either, I play a merc and the gameplay is not good. but nothing on buffing the bolts or anything, just rushing out because they care so much about what streamers are doing? embarrassing behavior

issue is every man and his dog copies streamers. making 0 build diversity. multiple builds need to be viable for a good product. I think a free respec is fair

Infernalist but back to the beach this patch.

I truly thought the guys at GGG had nailed it with Path of Exile 2. I believed they'd learned from the rough seasons of POE 1 and understood that constantly nerfing everything without offering real solutions only leads to player frustration and boredom.

Don’t get me wrong, adjusting things that aren’t functioning properly is fine, but completely ruining the majority of builds in just one patch, especially when many of us are enjoying the game, seems like a poor strategy. To make matters worse, the cost to respect the passive tree is 500,000 gold, which is impossible to afford with a build that no longer works.

Anyone else feeling the same?

Thought you were being serious until you brought up the 500,000 gold, even though I should have caught on when you said they are "ruining the majority of builds" when they haven't touched 99% of the potentially strong builds yet at all.

Objectively false statements, but some people do think that way.

Well played, well played.

Noob, respec cost goes up with your level(7k-ish at lvl 90). Go try game first before commenting. this is a serious forum for adults.
You should try blizzard dot com
Place for you
Just make free respect in early access or forever and that's it.

seeing how popular CoF was is a clear indication it was too strong. you dont want a new game, you want PoE1 all over again. the toxicity is actually insane right now. great job GGG, keep it up.

It wasnt popular because it was "broken" as you imply. It was popular cause it was FUNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!

Freezing mobs with big comets flying from he sky, thats CLASSIC mage style ARPG game play. Meteor is also CLASSIC.

I dont give a flyin F about its damage, nerf the damage fine, but dont nerf the PLAYSTYLE!! It was a satisfying and fun spec that brought a smile to my gaming experience.

TRUE.
mage is the most unfairly treated class as always in POE, then there is the HIEROPHANT who does all builds and better
Spent 100+hours and 300+ exalts on build, I HAVE 2k MANA I SPEND 1400 ON 1 SINGLE MONSTER AND YES I ONE SHOT HIM. (btw not bosses cos bosses i kill IN 3-5 MINUTES!!!!! AND I KINDA LIKE IT TBH) BUT ITS ARPG CAN I KILL MONSTER WITH MY 100+h CHARACHTER>??!?!?!? I deleted the game, lmk when i can kill monster in the game tyty stay safe

Maybe "Diablo-like" wasn't as dumb as we thought.

Best comment of the entire thread right here. ☝️
For any of those angry about this, its important for you to warn those still considering buying this on steam, please adjust your reviews there as well.
just leaving a reply to say while I appreciate how hard you guys are going on the updates, changes and bugfixes - the fact that we're playing cruel a1-3 for the sake of endgame but kneecapping on ascendancy difficulty and respec costs means it's impossible to take any risks and you're punished incredibly for doing so

I don't understand why we're testing cost balance on gold, etc when we don't even have the full campaign yet - at the absolute least every time there's a patch of this magnitude you should have the option for a free re-spec

my build wasn't even affected by these changes and I still think it's stupid that people are looking at every minute invested and feeling punished for their choices

I understand balance is important and you want to make changes before people get too comfortable but either a buffer to change your build before the patches hit or free re-specs feels like the bare minimum if you want feedback being the primary objective

this is also where the gatekeepy portion of the poe community is shooting itself in the foot - because these are valid criticisms and you're pushing new players away by enabling this discussion to flourish so negatively

please reconsider the nature of these patch deployments and their effects going forward, I beg
If you have misaligned the game objectives and expectations due to a mistake in numerical settings, that is your problem, not the players'. But now you are making the players pay the price for your mistake. Many players have invested in a build based on the values you initially provided. Now you nerf it, causing the build to become ineffective without any warning. At the same time, the high gold cost for respeccing that you have set makes it impossible for players to respec and change their build.

You can now say that the trigger frequency is too fast and does not meet expectations. But in the future, can you also say that any skill's damage is too high and does not meet expectations, and then nerf it?

Then no one will play this game anymore because they won't know if the build they are playing meets your expectations.
