PS5 Game Performance is just awful and unplayable
Yea, it's hard now especially on savannah map. I think that quick workaround would be turn off delirium layout :)

I'm really looking forward to patch 0.2.0, but I don't think GGG will fix the performance on PS5.

Agree. The only game I played on my ps5, that just has very low fps. Its just very hard on bosses. Optimization is awful.

Just some handy suggestions for anyone that stumbles into this thread, because my wife and I were having major issues with this (especially delerious Savannah). I did a performance optimization on my PS5 (standard, not pro) and am running juiced up delerious maps smooth with very little lag or glitchiness. Just did a Savannah and actually gained exp for once.
1. If on WiFi, ensure you’re at 5GHz (if possible) and the system is as close to router as possible. 2. Clean the fan and ventilation ports everywhere. 3. Put the PlayStation into Performance Mode, if it’s not already. 4. Go into Safe Mode and Clear your System Cache and rebuild the system database. There are videos on YouTube that can help if you’re unsure how to to perform any of the steps above. This isn’t to say this should be necessary, but if you want a viable game experience now without any patching updates, it did the trick for us. Good luck!! |

I agree, PS5 performance and even just graphics fidelity is very poor, which is extremely disappointing because I love poe2 but this is the only device I can play it on, the best settings I have found so far that work the best for me is:
1. Dynamic Resolution (Off) 2. Upscale Mode (NIS) 3. Render Resolution (59%) 4. Sharpness 20% 5. Lighting (Shadows+Global Illumination) 6. Refresh Rate (120Hz) You can also enable Dynamic Culling to try and leverage a bit more consistent higher FPS on ps5 but it removes so many of the particle effects that it kind of ruins a lot of the experience for me so I tend to keep that disabled, unless I'm in multiplayer mode. Regarding Refresh Rate (120Hz), if I attempt to set it to 60Hz I get horrendous screen tearing, so I need to set it to 120Hz for some reason. The game will average at 45-60 FPS and dip to unplayable levels during multiplayer but at least it will look the best this way. But yes I agree with what others have said, things run horribly on PS5 which was acceptable towards the beginning of the beta, but it continues to get more concerning the closer we get to official release without any signs of any graphics or performance improvements for ps5 on the horizon, I am hoping GGG comes through on this. side note: mouse and keyboard support for ps5 is badly needed too, even if it only works initially for stash management. Experienced software engineer, I feel your pain GGG. Last edited by furbytouch69#3504 on Mar 20, 2025, 8:02:59 AM

I play on PS5, fibre connection 500Mps Down, 250 Up, 85 inch bravia 4k TV,
setting are NIS 67%, shadows+global, dynamic cullen off. Most time it runs smooth, but rituals, breach or delirium are laggy like hell, especially in high juiced maps. Since i installed a Samsung 980pro 2TB extra and deinstalled the game and reinstalled it on the extra ssd, it runs more smooth. I think it is because of the higher read capacity of the ssd. But it´s just a theory of me. |
