Sorc defense question

I play Sorcerer, main skill Arc.
Sometimes I will die, but it's only my fault because I'll be running blindly or I won't avoid a boss attack.
Since we play from a distance, our task is to prevent the enemy from getting to us. We won't stand there and take a beating on our faces.

When it comes to defense, at the moment the only solution for mages seems to be to use MoM and Eldrich battery if we have a lot of mana and energy shield.
