Better Performance for Low Tier Computers

I have all graphics turned to the lowest settings possible with the exception of Textures because it cannot go below Medium for some reason.

Regardless of that the game still runs horribly. I even have the resolution scaling set to the lowest it will go which is something like 55%. I've tried Dx11, 12, and Vulkan and they all pretty much net the same results.

Now on my High-End PC I can run everything maxed out and that plays crisp and smooth.

So ultimately low tier tier optimization of the game seems to lack for lower end PCs.

FYI my laptop that is "low end" is a 14th gen i7, no GPU, 32gb of DDR5 memory. And I know, no gpu is a big deal but I play so many other games with 0 issue with settings turned down. Even games with better graphics than this one.

Also I am aware of this being Early Access... I get it, just wanting to bring attention to this.

What did you expect with an iGPU? They are primarily used for display output. Radeon Vega Graphics (AMD) is far better than the iGPUs on Intel CPUs. And even those can play some old games at decent settings, but they absolutely fold in modern titles from the last 5 years or so. GTA V is over 11 years old, running on 2010 graphics, so it makes sense that Vega Graphics allows you to play that, but this isn't GTA V.
Gaming PC: Win 11, 7600X3D, RTX 4080, 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30, 7000 MB/s SSD, 850W, 3840x2160p 120Hz
Streaming PC: Win 11, i5-12400, RTX 4060, 32GB DDR5-6000 CL36, 7000 MB/s SSD, 450W, 1920x1080p 60Hz
You have a potato…..pull your socks up and get an upgrade do some overtime get a loan you know the drill
Game work well at 1080p for me on an Arc A750 system, but will start to stutter if I played it on faster computers I have at higher resolutions.

I just chalk it up to being EA. The enemy flame attacks really drop FPS along with stone textures.

Not sure if the UHD 770 will ever be supported though, for iGPUs looks like only Radeon 780M or Intel XE 96EU would make minimum requirements as both are around the A380 level, which is listed as minimum.
I played D4 on lower settings without any issue. I typically range from 30-50 fps which is much, much higher fps than PoE2 in particular. Fairly modern title just as one example.

Again, I prefaced the post by saying I am aware of no gpu being a big deal. But I play most modern titles without much of an issue. PoE2 is nearly unplayable in most cases. Low-end optimization is definitely lacking as the issue is really only with PoE2.

Also Again, I understand this is Early Access so I am sure more optimizations will come.

D4 is not a good example, because it's running on an in-house engine made by a multi-billion dollar company that has the budget to hire the best of the best, and they also have a lot of experience working with low-end PCs. D4 in general is also not as CPU-heavy as PoE is. As far as I'm aware, Blizzard's engine has its own methods of dealing with potato PCs, but it's a bit much to expect the same from GGG. While they are no longer a small studio, they are far from Blizzard's level in terms of budget. It also makes no sense to invest into this area because hardware surveys clearly show that people's hardware is going up a tier. iGPUs are not even considered for gaming, so they make up the bottom of the lists.

Budget? Probably, but do they go all over with their employees? highly debatable if you look at all their products from various angles lol
Old Blizzard crew, maybe, but today's standard? Not so much for sure.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Old Blizzard crew made the engine they are still using today. That's the point.

Wait so you want your Scion to perform as well as your Ferarri?
Another example: Last Epoch performs 10x better and while Last Epoch graphics aren't as good as PoE2, Last Epoch has like 10x mob density and particles. Last Epoch devs is arguably 50% smaller than GGG.

The list goes on. Even reaching outside of ARPGs for performance. Same results. From when I turn the graphics up and down on PoE2 I see very little in visual differences, which I understand everything isn't exactly visual under the hood.. But still..
