are there really hundreds of thousands of players who will be ok with a single death bricking a map?
Damn - one death per map?
Yikes - im not ready for that. Anyone else get a Heroes of Might & Magic vibe from the atlas? Last edited by superbomb1967#5561 on Dec 18, 2024, 4:47:44 PM

It doesn't make sense to make 1 death brick your map. There is a HC option for a reason.
I feel there is room to balance this, because with all the effect spam you see from 1-2 other players in your group, it literally blinds you to being able to see the bad effects you need to get out of the way from, or walking in. So much effects spam on my screen, half the time people I group with don't even see the death animation, and they are dead, which is why a few of them stopped playing because we can't enjoy grouping up because of this issue. I would rather see the devs place a death counter and allow perhaps 3 deaths per map, to give players an opportunity to recover from a bad experience instead of making it a HC encounter through and through. Also, getting those items to drop so you can continue progressing through higher tier maps are dropping way to low, even after having initial few points placed to increase the drop rate, it feels broken, IE: not dropping higher tier or even same tier to allow progression, you have to go back 1-2+ tiers and try to get higher tiers to drop, it's not that easy to sustain for many players. |

" Of course not. A sizeable amount of the players has not, and will not touch the endgame. I would even estimate that a lot of the "game is perfect"-people we see here on the forums, are people that are still playing the acts. And you know what? The acts are solid. The endgame is not. GGG HAVE TO(!!!) cave on one of the following things: a) Either give us more portals, or at least let the mechanics and tower buff remain on the map so we can try again b) Reduce the map sizes and improve map layouts. If both of these remain and GGG remain stubborn, a lot of people will simply quit - and the numbers on the next PoE 1 league will look great. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

Wait, you guys can run maps without "Unexpected disconnection occurred"?!
After finishing cruel three days ago, I've just finally been able to finish my 10th map. Most times it just eats the map and kicks me. Nearly unplayable. |

As long as you’re doing maps with your wheel house range you shouldn’t be dying at all that often. If you are you either need to scale back the map or up your gear.
Personally I can do probably up to 10 atm but it can get spicy from death effects but 7s are relatively free unless i zone out or it’s a particularly bad situation and death effects. You can mitigate most of the problems by being range though also the sorcerer and witch popular builds tend to be pretty tanky. Hard wiping a map isn’t really a huge deal anyways as maps are essentially 1ex and those drop pretty regularly. Over time you should learn the problem mobs so you adapt to those. Knowing your limits is extremely important and not having extremely bad map affix’s. Not to mention it’s easier with friends assuming your not carrying. |

I dont mind it, i will just throw another map, not a big deal. It has its benefits, for the game to be clear. You will want a more well rounded character and play more carefully because you have something to lose. All those 2k life MFers now have something to lose. Its pretty neat balancing tool.

Lose the poe1 SC braindead mindset and actually build some defenses instead of beating it to your total DPS number. Problem solved.

" When the tree starts to give me this options I would do it. Sadly the tree is garbage and your only defensive layers are ES or health and max res on everything |

" Poe 1 still exists is such a bad argument If I wanted 1 death per map I'd just play hardcore They will change this with some time, there is absolutely no way single portal mapping is sticking around Last edited by Phar#3501 on Dec 19, 2024, 4:33:37 AM
