In the middle of Act 3, still using a staff from Act 1

After crafting, gambling, and picking up 100s of staves, I am still using one from Act 1 in the middle/end of Act 3. I haven't found or crafted a single one since this one that has +x to all spells. Awesome I was progressing very fast early on but I can't find anything to replace this.

To be fair thats a really nice staff for that level.

That's the hard part. I feel like going out and just grabbing every upgrade defeats the purpose of the loot hunt at all :)
I don't blame anyone for doing it but I personally don't want to buy every upgrade from trade ya know? |

I agree, the game should fullfill our ability to either craft or find better gear as we progress. I feel like they have set it up so that I have to trade as I am not getting enough crafting stuff to actually try and craft. My staff is level 22 with the +2 level of cold gems.

" Yeah, that is what I mean. I get it. The EA has been out a week so I don't expect to have the best items but wasting so much currency, gambling and not seeing a single other staff with +all spells makes progression stagnant. |

This is a very good weapon for leveling and will be very hard to replace before maps. Basically the same affixes, just higher tiers.
I would assume that every single other item you have equipped is probably worse than that staff. Have you tried to replace them first? The weakest item should almost always be replaced first. Melee weapons tend to be the exception. |

Trade should really be something for the endgame, not to be able to get through the campaign.
That said, it's just unvetted rng so far; I'm sure it'll improve somewhat. Zaanus:

That being said, I thought for sure with gambling (probably 50 staves I've bought), crafting from normal items (probably another 50 or so) and checking vendor stock, and drops (I farm bosses and mini bosses), I haven't seen a single other +x all spells. Only +x fire/cold/etc |

I bet if we had a survey of everyone above level 85 only a very small fraction are using more than 1 or 2 peices they found or crafted from scatch without buying an already good item and crafting on it. Personally ive never found a peice of gear I could use after getting to maps. Problem even more so in this game because of attribute requirements is you get to point where the peice of gear you need to replace has say +30 str or chaos res, or etc... the requirments for an upgrade become astronomically high for just random loot drops. My belt needs 2 charm slots, thats mandatory for my build to not die. If i take it off i go below chaos res cap, and cold cap. If i lose even 10 life off the roll i lose a minion due to beidats will conversion. So I would need to find all those stats plus 1 more good mod to use it, or go through the headache of making it up on other peices, which removal of do the same thing and things domino out of control. I expect to never found an item ill equip for the rest of EA. |

" Makes sense for sure. I guess just "typing out loud" here but should would be nice to be able to salvage or forge an item to transfer 1 or 2 of the affixes to another item. Depending 100% on trade is really lame IMHO |
