We need WASD movement for PoE 1 now too.

Such a charming community :D
Understand that you can still use point and click to move while other people could use WASD if they wanted to. Making the game more accessible to people will benefit you too if people who would previously bounce off from game because of controls (I know a few) would stick around, make the game even more active, maybe spend some money contributing to further development, etc It is also a lot of strain to wrist if you want to move and shoot different directions due to additional mouse movement actions and clicks you would perform after every other attack. Again, you can have WASD movement to alleviate this in the game for people whom it would help and still play your preferred control scheme As for the animations - heck, I don't mind if my character stops and instantly turns to attack as it would happen now if you move your mouse and interrupt movement with an attack. Animations that would make character track mouse can be added at later date if desired by GGG, QoL and accessibility should be a priority. |

" In what scenario would getting more people who were bouncing off due to a small inconvenience be beneficial? They always bring more issues and destroy communities. Focusing on casual never brings anything positive, and it drains you financially, not to mention you are wasting time, and hence we are not immortal; it is an issue. GolompPL

" If you wanna talk about financial aspect - you might have things the other way around - casual players are overwhelming majority of the playerbase of any somewhat actively played video game, they are the financial lifeblood. Also I would refrain calling it "focusing" but rather "accommodating". Additionally - is not exclusively casual players that want this to begin with - majority of people that you see here are not casual players - a casual player will not bother opening forums, let alone post here, so the feedback you read here is often from quite invested players, including people wanting WASD movement. It is a one time investment that will be there for the rest of the time, it will benefit someone else and won't take anything away from you. If anything is detrimental to a community - it is gatekeeping. Also it is not always to your benefit, each control scheme has pros and cons, there are builds that will work better with one and some with the other. |

i see no reason why an optional wasd movement system would affect most other players. As well as other people have said i believe they are looking into this whether your like it or not, its probably coming. On top of everything else the amount of BS gatekeeping about point and click in here is actually insane.

" Absolutely. Adding to that that every single argument against WASD i've read here is already invalidated by the fact that analog stick movement already exists for many years. The people who fantasize about WASD needing new animations or will destroy the game or the balance or whatever seem to have a very narrow horizon and don't know much about the game. |

No? Why would we need it? Some may use it but it's defenitely not needed.
I mean, if it's here, it's here. If not, it's not. I'm not against it, i'm not for it. It's just not "needed", like you can't play without it. Last edited by LikeyX#7028 on Oct 26, 2025, 4:35:05 PM
