Zalmarath damage bug?

My character is built super defensively. Zalmarath in Act 2 was tickling me the whole fight. I took the dagger to the face several times with very little damage taken. Then suddenly, it one shot me. I was at full hp.

Yep, it's not just you. Specifically the dagger attack where he stabs the ground and basically punches is one shotting me. I assume it's registering each frame of the attack as its own hit. The drag toward the boss does not have this problem.

I've taken dozens of those dagger attacks to the face. They typically do very negligible damage most of the time but maybe 1/10 of the time, it just one shots.

Fought this fight with Sorc many times, no issues.

I just tried it with my warrior for the first time. 70% armor reduction, 906hp, etc., and the boss one shot me with his dagger. I've replayed the fight a couple of times; if I do nothing, he cannot hurt me. But one in maybe 20 dagger drops will one shot my character.

Is this a bug or intentional? If its intentional, then I just need to learn to avoid it. But it seems like a bug. I've gone full defensive path and am fairly well geared.

The first one-shot sent me flying through the bottom of the floor. The second one-shot killed me on the spot. The third one, I thought I rolled out of the way of the dagger, the AOE still one shot my warrior.

This boss is 0 issue for my ranged characters. Really struggling with warrior.
