GGG, gotta change that new 'one attempt per waystone'.
Losing the Waystone sucks, but even worse, we lose all the modifiers to the map. Ritual gone, corruption gone, expedition gone. That's fair if we go through all of our portals, but come on... One Attempt per waystone? That removes all possibility of Glass Cannon builds. The maps are already mindlessly huge, without travel abilities to get around them. Now it's NECESSARY to complete the map, before going for the Expedition, Breach, or Rituals, because if we die attempting them, we lose the map.
People can say "skill check" and "get good"... but the point is, unless you're at the bleeding edge of the meta, you're going to need multiple attempts every couple of maps. It's another way to punish people who aren't following the meta. You're sending the game towards a slightly more soulslike format with the difficulty and mechanics, and I'm all for it, but even soulslikes will let you respawn and get back to it. The respawning monsters during the campaign, with the checkpoints? It was a great idea, it lets people kill more, and get more experience to level up, when the mobs are a bit too strong. Making that mechanic even worse in maps, by closing all portals and calling the map failed? HUGE letdown. So far in global chat, not a single person is in favor of it. There's a lot complaining, and sure, a few toxic players just telling them to 'get good' or 'have you tried not dying?'... but nobody is outright saying "I love only being allowed one attempt, and losing all items on the ground if I die." You're already taking a lot from us here, at least let us have this. I'm tired of having a map with Breach, Expedition, and Ritual, only to die because I can't move during the breach, and losing out on the Expedition and Ritual. nope.
I need boss drops to maintain their value. 6 portal zerging was stupid. fix your defenses. Step 1 is to self reflect.

" " Exactly the type of person I was talking about. See GGG, the only thing it does is let elitists be more toxic about the free time they have to play the game. |

I honestly think its weird we don't get to use our portals anymore outside of potion runs.. it's a stupid concept but it's their game they make the decisions. It's really annoying to have one attempt going into bosses you don't know and being told "just get good" it's like yeah.. thats fine and all if basically everything didnt have a darn one shot mechanic constantly and bosses having multiple in some cases that aren't exactly telegraphed as "one shots" like the red version attacks some don't even glow red and will one shot you out of no where or they will track you through dodge rolls and even though the visual misses you it still kills you.
I get it's early access and there will be bugs but at the same time the whole one attempt and done is kinda stupid. If you balance your end game around one attempt and done I can promise you it will push a bunch of people away after a short bit purely out of fatigue people don't want to hyper focus 99% of the time or have the potential to be one shot just because they looked away for a milisecond to check discord, or check stream, etc.. it sucks basically saying "we balance around one shots and over tuned mechanics". <-- because that is what it is plain and simple. I've done plenty of mapping, it's whatever I don't hate it I just think it can be improved and if they need to raise the difficulty of the mobs to counter the extra portal attempts im fine with that but I don't like the idea of us using portals simply as vendor/trash runs it seems stupid. also early mapping feels god awful until you get enough invested into the atlas so it's a darn slog, it feels like you get less over all loot and currency than the campaign. Right now, death is way too punishing. Lose xp, lose all the loot, lose the precious waystone, lose all the modifiers. Stop making me play hardcore.

like the person above me said, it's way too punishing especially for people just coming into the genre, you're basically saying F you to them and saying get good and pushing people away from the community and game because you think you're better than them and in most cases you aren't.
Yes, make it harder in another way, but punishing by making portals useless potion/vendor/trash runs is stupid.. losing your entire waystone because one miss step, is stupid, not being able to learn the boss and getting more than one attempt is stupid because not everyone can do things one and done HELL most cant do that and it pushes people away from the game because it's just bad design. |

" Problem is not our defenses, its the amount of free time you have and we don't. Might be easy to say "just farm for 12 hours and fix your defenses" But for a lot people 12 hours is at least a full week. Last edited by Ardziv#1837 on Dec 21, 2024, 8:29:12 PM

Hard disagree!
People seem to forget that every player chooses the difficulty themself. There is no need to change anything from GGG side. The players may need to change the way they roll their waystones or the tier they are opening. If a player dies regularly, simply go to a lower tier of waystones, roll mods on them that are more suitable for your build or simply build a tankier character. If a player opens a high tier maps with bad modifiers, plays a class cannon build and dies often ... well what did you expect? You chose the difficulty! Edit: Why demand changes from someone else to fix your bad decisions? Last edited by Avaricta#4758 on Dec 21, 2024, 8:31:53 PM

" Nope, the problem is not difficulty, its time. Most players are still in campaign. Once they reach endgame they will not last a week. |
