GGG: stop giving new players reasons to quit the game

I'm not interested in being answered with "I killed this boss in 15 seconds, get a better build" every time I voice any criticism about the game's design. If that happens much more, people are just going to stop playing, the game will die, and honestly at that point it'd deserve it.


I did *not* say get a better build like it is your fault..

I said that GGG needs to make their game and UI teach you how to make a better build. However, you do need to use a better build.

If they nerfed boss dps like you are asking for, 50% of the playerbase would be killing bosses in 13 seconds instead of 120-240 seconds. That would not be an improvement.

If you want every single choice you can make to produce a viable way to kill bosses, you are playing the wrong genre. There is not an ARPG anywhere that you can kill anything with bad gear and bad builds.

The correct solution to the problem for your character is to solicit build help on one of the many forums for that... includign the discord new player help, where i've helped many players fix their builds.

The correct solution for the game is for GGG to make it more obvious to players who end up in your situation what they can do to imrove their character. Not nerf the game into the ground with 5 hp bosses.

As proof to explain that bosses do not to be nerfed... this is my run at the Act 1 end boss, on a fresh character, who was handed nothing, and finished Act 1 in 3hrs 30 minutes:

Currently I have yet to see a boss which lives for more than 10seconds including Pinnacles.

I think rather than upping any dmg, they should tone down monster and player dmg so they get prolonged tactical fights - rather than the instant kill fiesta we currently have

Also Nerf Energy shield


That is an idiotic take. Time sequestered away in a boring map or campaign means less time seeing others MTX and less loot = less stash tabs needed , both of which = less $$ for GGG. Both Elden Ring and Dark Souls do not have MTX and live on unit sales of their very fine tuned ENJOYABLE but difficult game play. That does not at all mesh with the formula that made GGG successful.

Yeah because fighting a boss for a full minute or maybe 2 would completely deny that, not that I see any MTX in the first place when sitting in my HO or in my maps

first of all i have to say this
1.leveling up to the skills ya want to use for example fireball or anything that actually dose damage? is a pain ,it took me literally 2 days just to get to act3 WITH A GUIDE BUILD FFS the amount of xp you gain in the campaign is abysmal takes for ever and to make it worse? your stuck with lvl 1 support gems no jewlwers till at least act 3 with skills that to even get the good ones? ya have to be like lvl 31 or higher to use and maps by the time ya even see the lvl 10 or higher support gems so yaa wonder why so many players are just giving up ya cant level up with skills that just simply are too dammed weak to even use to level up with that said I QUIT till they decide to actually add more skills more than 2 weapons' for each class and actually realize not every one is a streamer

Apparently not using build guides is the way to go then. Playing since day1 finished campaign after roughly 15hours, my second char took 5-6hours

i suppose your right seems there are allot of people posting" oh this build is t15 viable " builds all over the web ya look at it think its good them half way through youve consumed almost leathle levels of caffine are sleep deprived about to throw your setup out a window to realize the build is a troll build

Good lord, you're probably the only person on this planet that considers those shield phases from LE a good thing. To the point of even recommending it.

That was probably the worst update I've ever seen in an ARPG in my life. And I've played through the first 2 years of D3.

That thing is entirely garbage. If you're not playing an abusive build, those shield phases might have as well nerfed player agency (and power) in creating their own stuff by 50%.

I do agree the shield phases are disliked or misunderstood by most.

I think it's 100% preferable to boss invulnerability phases. I think of the LE boss shield as a "soft invulnerability timer that you can power through if you get geared enough". The shield decay is like your timer on the invulnerability.

+1 to all the suggestions here, and there are 100 more in other posts waiting for consideration.

But I guess if there are players who kill all bosses in 10 seconds, then this game must be perfect and need no further work. Maybe the devs should create a separate build on Steam so those players can enjoy an unupdated version, free of any QoL improvements.
